Underwood Elementary School

Richardson is an amazing school with top-notch teachers. The principal is fair, kind, and approachable. Our kiddos have excelled academically, socially and emotionally because of the support they receive here.

We've only been at this school for kindergarten thus far but I am very impressed. The teacher, front office staff, playground attendants, nurse, janitor, librarian, pta, principal and art teacher have all made a good impression on us. Wonderful staff. There is a lot of pressure on parents to stay on track and keep the kids practicing what they've learned at home. It's a good thing. Kept me in line! Very small school so you really get to know everyone. Lots of rewards and extra stuff for the kids to enjoy that keeps them enthusiastic for meeting goals. Love the positive reinforcement.

The reviews on this school are very old. I just wanted to add a current, and positive, one, as I’m surprised by this school’s rating. We love Meadowlane! The teachers are kind and engaged - we see the principal on bus duty greeting the kids every day. There are lots of fun activities and themes, lots of focus on kindness and good citizenship in the curriculum. My son is an energetic boy that struggles to sit still and can be a handful (!) and he is thriving. The atmosphere and focus of this school is warm and welcoming, diverse and wonderful. Please don’t listen to these outdated reviews.

I don't even get how their school is approved by state.... their online schooling is a joke, they have missed several days and just add more days off onto the calendar. All of a sudden they have an at home "school day" but no zoom meeting next week..... this wasn't on the calendar when I viewed it a month ago. They didn't have school last Friday for teacher work day, then late start this coming Wednesday and then all of a sudden an at home school day with no zoom meetings on Thursday. These kids have missed so many days already and my step-daughter is behind - then they wonder why. Teacher would rather play "guess-who" on the 2 hour zoom meetings instead of teaching these kids something during the ONLY 2 hours they're online for the day. I am very frustrated as I see my kids in a JOCO school district thriving and getting ahead while I see my step-daughter struggling in this school. Amber Dallas

This schools amazing some of the staff are strict but other wise amazing school love it .

Consistent practice to take away recess minutes for the entire grade based on a small group of children’s actions.

Teachers bully students, no homework, Fridays are movie and pizza. not a lot of learning going on and students are behind but continue to be progressed to the next grade level. Students yell and scream then strip off clothes and twerk . this place should be investigated and shut down.
