Read what parents are saying about Friendly Hills Middle SchoolThe teachers don’t do ANYTHING. Some boys were rating girls body’s on how if the flat or not, and the teachers legit did NOTHING ABOUT IT. The teachers yell at me for forgetting to charge my iPad and needing to go to the bathroom. The girls Bathroom, they have pads for the girls in case they need them, and these girls are putting them EVERYWHERE. it’s disgusting. The school in general is nasty. The bus is so bad too. It’s dirty. The teachers are horrible about helping you out if there’s a problem. I highly don’t recommend this school. Pleas get better teachers.
Posted by a student on 2/8/2024This school is ok. I doubt it’s as bad as some other schools, but it’s not the greatest. All of the other reviews I’ve read are true. I am a female student and have gotten harassed by the male students there. They have yelled sexual stuff at me and none of them have gotten in trouble. My friends get bullied constantly, and when I tried to get an appointment with the school counselor, they never made an appointment for me. I’ve had a lot of good teachers at this school that are fun and make me like their class, but I don’t think some of them are fully equipped to handle what some of the kids here do. There was a pregnant teacher and a kid threw a chair across the room, how was that teacher supposed to respond? There’s also a lot of weird stuff around race. This school needs a lot of work on the environment. Kids are told that because they work slower, that they’re dumb by the other kids. In conclusion, you could send your kid here, it won’t affect me, but you should probably ask them every once in a while how they’re doing and what’s happening at school in case you need to follow up with an email to the principal or something.
Posted by a student on 1/17/2024I go to this school and I think most the teachers try to help you learn but the bullying is horrible and there is always fights and many and by many I mean many slurs. The building is really nice classrooms are great and the school is good but the students are not. I do wish there was some more events but it’s a decent school.
Posted by a student on 12/14/2023This school was average maybe 15 years ago. However, since the utilization of Ipads, teachers now use them as babysitters. Kids are watching YouTube videos and playing games on these devices all day. There was also an issue that was never brought to my attention with my child. Very poor communication. Pulled two out three of my children out of this school and never looked back.
Posted by a parent on 11/29/2023The bullying is literally horrible. Like?? No teachers do anything about and just say to figure it out ourselves how tf are we supposed to when we are just children.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved from another district to attend this school, and it was well worth it. Our child is thriving in kindergarten. The kindergarten teacher is fantastic and provides weekly updates about classroom activities. The school curriculum is centered on kindness and emotional health, which in turn creates a stable, supportive, environment for children to learn. The class size is small, so all the kids get enough individualized attention. The kids are reading, writing, and even creating their own stories! A counselor gives regular lessons on feelings, eg “what is empathy”. There are many other supportive services for specific student needs. (For example, one mom shared with me that she is very pleased with the many services her kid receives to address autism.). The students get lots of time outside to enjoy the beautiful wooded playground. My child’s classroom is small but diverse—economically, linguistically, and racially. We have received lots of support from other families who have been in the district a while and know how things operate. I have found all staff, most notably the principal and our child’s classroom teacher, to be extremely responsive. They answer all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. The school uses a restorative Justice model to address misbehavior—although it is rarely needed. Most importantly, our child is happy and secure. She wants to go to school every day. She comes home excited to share what she has learned. She is truly thriving, and we are so grateful to all the staff at Somerset.Parent Review1y ago - Mendota Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFSCS is a great school. The teachers are all very engaged and really care about the students. My kids really enjoy the teachers and the other kids. We have had no issues at this school like I have read about in the news regarding the public schools. The school focuses on classical education (reading, writing and arithmetic), and Christian faith. The school seems to stay away from the polarizing agenda driven nonsense that the public school seems to be mandated or be coerced into by activist teachers, staff, and school boards. FSCS feels like a safe place to send our kids. It feels like a safe environment that will let them be kids and still teach effectively to the mind, body, and soul of our kids. The community at the school is fantastic as well. Many of the other parents are volunteering and helping throughout the school year at events, clubs, and sporting events. There are a great deal of clubs and sports that children as young as kindergarten can get involved in. It is truly a rich community where you have a great group of human adults all contributing to helping our children grow into great people and citizens of the United States. I strongly recommend Faithful Shepard Catholic School.Parent Review2mo ago - St Joseph's School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you have a boy then they should not be sent to this school. The boy ratio is low and if you child isn't part of the in-crowd they are ignore and the teachers say the right things but nothing about bullying gets done. This school went with Singapore Math. They switched kids who hadn't had it before and now parents are paying for tutoring since Singapore Math puts your child behind in repetition items and what all middle schools are teaching. Very bad choice and should have been "grandfathered in" as children come into the school. Teachers don't even know how to teach it and not enough books until months into the school year. For what you pay, you don't get your money's worth!Parent Review1mo ago
