We wish the old principal was there. She did a great job of connecting with us. The office staff is getting out of control especially Miss Nunlee. The principal seems aggressive and out of touch. I believe had it not been for the extra support my kids receive from Ms. Towsend then we would have made the switch. We are giving the new principal time. Right now it is not looking good. Ms. Hanson is great and my childrens teachers are working very hard. Thank you Ms. Lee Hood!

Our child attends Lafayette as an out-of-district student. The school is about 15-20 minutes away from where we live and it's well worth the drive every day. Our child has a disability and our home district has extremely limited resources for special education. Since attending this year, our child has increased reading and math skills and is completing social and academic activities that we previously didn't know were possible. I believe this is due to the tremendous support from the dedicated staff and resources allocated to Lafayette. The teachers have been wonderful and we noticed right away the difference in attitudes promoting empathy and inclusion. Our experience this year has been outstanding and we plan on continuing with Lafayette and the Lincoln Park school district. I just wish every school district had the special education resources and inclusive attitudes that we've experienced here.

The school is great, the principal on the other hand is very ignorant. Her attitude towards parents of color is very lackluster and judgmental. She needs to be reeducated on her skill sets; for instance her communication, verbiage, and empathy.

This school do not care about your children please do not send your kids to that school please do not send your children to this school this school is very very disturbing they need new staff new my son attended for 8 days they let my son bust the back of his head in gym please do not send your children here they are not safe this school is not five stars it has no stars

My child has been at this school since Kindergarten thru 5 grade. When I say after 2nd grade the teachers I have encountered do not care about attention to details. They over look the students whom need help and just put them off to IXL as if it is enough to undo the years of poor teaching done. I will shoulder some of the blame for not being about to get my child the help needed. I just don’t understand how the teachers can gossip like children and never create an action plan to help a student in need. Rather than bash them to whom ever will listen. What happened to getting the parents involved? Calling home and setting up in person meetings that are more than 15mins.
