This is the best school I ever put my kids in.
Posted by a parent on 4/24/2021Test scores have gone up in four out of five areas where the State of Michigan ranks us. Our deficit is going down. Ecorse is going in the right direction. That is up. There will always be those who will look down upon us no matter what we do. Also, we did this without extra money that other schools

We have John Hopkins University who have introduced new ways of teaching. More students are taking advantage of after school programs such as Wayne States C2 Pi

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe wish the old principal was there. She did a great job of connecting with us. The office staff is getting out of control especially Miss Nunlee. The principal seems aggressive and out of touch. I believe had it not been for the extra support my kids receive from Ms. Towsend then we would have made the switch. The school is about 15-20 minutes away from where we live and it's well worth the drive every day. Our child has a disability and our home district has extremely limited resources for special education. Since attending this year, our child has increased reading and math skills and is completing social and academic activities that we previously didn't know were possible. I believe this is due to the tremendous support from the dedicated staff and resources allocated to Lafayette. The teachers have been wonderful and we noticed right away the difference in attitudes promoting empathy and inclusion. Our experience this year has been outstanding and we plan on continuing with Lafayette and the Lincoln Park school district. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been at this school since Kindergarten thru 5 grade. When I say after 2nd grade the teachers I have encountered do not care about attention to details. They over look the students whom need help and just put them off to IXL as if it is enough to undo the years of poor teaching done. I will shoulder some of the blame for not being about to get my child the help needed. I just don’t understand how the teachers can gossip like children and never create an action plan to help a student in need. Rather than bash them to whom ever will listen.
