Read what parents are saying about Haigh Elementary SchoolSince the new principal everything at Haigh has gone bad. No parent communication, does not respong to emails. You do not feel welcomed when entering in the office. I had some concerns with my daughter so I emailed the principal, no response! My daughter comes home almost every day complaining that she doesn't learn anything and the teachers don't listen to them. They just don't care!
Posted by a parent on 8/22/2023Don’t send your kids to this, since the new principal started and everything is ruined. Most of the teachers are gone only substitute are teaching and they are the principal friends and none of them certified. It’s a mess, i am working on moving my kids as soon as possible.
Posted by a parent on 2/16/2023I am parent of three daughters and for the last few years the bullying at this school is unacceptable. The Principal and staff do nothing about it. My child was pushed off the monkey bars and was bleeding from the head. I was called and all they did was flip the girl's card over nothing more. Today the same child with a group of bully's she is classmates with thrEW a basketball at my daughter's face breaking her glasses and laughing at her in the process. My daughters come home from school constantly being called names and teased for no reason. I teach my kids too always be respectful and nice too others however the people in this community teach their kids the complete opposite. I am extremely disappointed. Other schools do not allow bullying or teasing however this school does. I am going too contact the Michigan Board of Education too see what can be done. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TOO THIS SCHOOL UNLESS THEY ARE MEAN AND BULLY'S. If you have kids who are nice and kind DON'T SEND THEM HERE.
Posted by a parent on 5/11/2017Our youngest son has attended this school for six years. And pretty much all of the principals we experienced, the teachers my son had and all of the support staff are excellent. They really cared about us and our son and from what I have seen they care about all of the other students as well!a grateful parent
Posted by a community member on 1/17/2017Not the best school ever, not the worst either. It has the worst students though. Kids in the school talk about killing. The kids there are uncaring, irresponsible, thinking their the best, only cares about them self, selfish, everything negative. You can only make 3 to 5 true friends there . One kid said if he had an AK-47, he'd shoot most people in the school. If you want to move your child to a school, do not choose this one. The teachers are not great as well, you do get good education, but the treatment, is not good at all. I only like 3 teachers there.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school gave me a place I felt like I belonged. They have so many opportunities for students to get involved between the arts, sports, service such as NHS, or academic clubs. The wide range of electives, CTE/college prep offered let me explore my interests and help me figure out what I wanted to do with my life. They offer something over 25(?) AP courses which is great for students to earn college credit early at a reduced cost. Many teachers clearly cared a lot about students and gave their all in our classrooms. My counselor pushed me to apply to colleges and walked me through the process when I was unsure of what types of programs I was interested in. The school had their fair share of behavior issues and the fighting was a little much at times but the numerous things offered by this school and the great educator students make it a great place. I owe a lot to this school for getting me to where I am today.Other Review5y ago - Highview Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have 2 children at Lindbergh and love it! I think it is very important to mention that it is a leader in me school, which has not been mentioned in any reviews. It has helped both my children to be more confident. The staff is so amazing, they try their best to meet all needs and make it a welcoming environment.Parent Review6y ago - Howard Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBefore my kids started at Howard I had always heard nothing but positive things. After becoming a Howard parent I see first hand why that was. The staff is amazing! We have the best teachers, so caring and so nurturing especially during these uncertain times. They have made online learning as stress free and as manageable as possible. The office staff is extremely helpful and very friendly. We are very happy to be a part of the wonderful Howard community.Parent Review3y ago - Daly School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDuring the time my children attended the school as toddlers and preschoolers, I loved the school, and they thrived. Because of the Montessori philosophy of education, they learned many self-help skills that allowed them to be more independent. When my children became elementary school students, I noticed a sharp decline in their academics. At first, I had hope that the multi-aged classrooms would give my children the chance to work at their current level and advance as they needed. After seeing little progress, I pulled them out. My lower elementary student (1-3) didn't recognize a lower case "g". My upper elementary student (4-6) barely knew math multiplication facts and could barely write a paragraph. After testing, I discovered they were 6 months to a year behind in multiple academic areas. They are now in public school and receiving services in order to catch up.Waste of money. Waste of time. The toddler and preschool programs are great, but stop after preschool and go somewhere for a quality education.Parent Review1y ago - Emmanuel Lutheran
