Sugarbush Elementary School

My daughter was bullied. The principal said “boys will be boys.” When a boy shoved her down and she pushed back he wanted to suspend her. At the end of year the same boys were bullying my daughter and he tried to suspend her again and accused her of lying and said “boys will be boys” and when I reached out to superintendent and dean, they said they have been long time friends and go golfing. He’d never go against what he said! I switched for this reason. It’s disgusting. He must beat his wife since he thinks that’s ok. He is a boy after all.

Overall I am happy with Naldrett Elementary School. I’ve only had an issue with one teacher (who, in my opinion, needs to retire from teaching). Other than that, we’ve had a great experience thus far. I feel my concerns have been addressed and that our family is a valued part of the school community.

I just love when they have the "Santa Secret Shop". I'm a crafter and am so excited to see all those happy children with smiles on their faces. The PTO ladies are very friendly and also helpful to make that day Special. I hope they have this event this year. Maggie barnes

My kids went to this school for 5th and 2nd grade, I have had a horrible experience so have my kids, the staff is undereducated, the principal is just a big bully, they don't welcome parent involvement at all, and my kids got bullied the principal did not want to talk about it or address the issue properly they like to tuck problems under the carpet. When one of my kids got a chair thrown at her by another student in 2nd grade the principal tried to down play the incident and said that my daughter was confused the child was probably just stalking the chair and it fell on her. Ridiculous! The teacher that my 2nd grader had would often bring her emotional home life into the classroom and share her emotions and thoughts with the students and even had a few outbursts where she cried infront of the students. One time since the same teacher had her mother teaching there as well she called her mother to come and yell at her students because she couldn't get control of them. My daughter was once told she can't wear a jacket at recess because it is not cold. I pulled my kids out of the school at the end of that year, and I would not recommend this school to anyone, unless you want to subject your child to constant bullies and threats from students, and discrimination from students and staff members.

This school is absolutely terrible, especially if you have a bipoc or disabled kid. Most of the staff is MAGA and act like it. They covered up a teacher saying the N word and let her keep her job and she stayed in the classroom with kids (the main teacher, principal and board said there was no rule about a white teacher saying the N word and she said it more than once at a field trip to me and another white parent thinking she was safe). They are very ableist and pretend that having a asd kid in the classroom is something they have to endure not learn about and update their teaching practices to expand knowledge of their learning base. I have pulled my son from this place but a friend also said how they had the “bad kids who didn’t earn a Holliday party” sitting in chairs in front of the room watching the other kids have a Holliday party. They do nothing about bullying or inappropriate touching. This place had trump supporting signs out front for weeks after the election with no care to the feeling of an unsafe environment towards their bipoc students. The special education teacher YELLED at a child walking to his car because the mother told him to go start the car while she zipped her other child’s coat, like didn’t even try to talk to the kid just yelled while the mother was right there. My kid has asd and was screaming for me to not make him go in their and he is NOT like that. Their psychologist for owls is absolutely horrible as well. Please save your kid if you can. (Shout out to the speech and math extra help teachers and ms Jordan though yall are amazing!)
