Posted by a parent on 9/3/2025I've heard many horror stories of this school. My friend experienced severe bullying and received no support from the faculty and staff, and there was a lot of discriminatory behavior. I overall, on behalf of my friend, do not recommend this school at all.

My 6th and 7th grade years were full of stress due to covid and the amount of incredibly racist, sexist, and homophobic students there, plus the fact that the faculty members

There was a massive gap in what students at the other local middle schools were learning versus the kids at King. My child did not read any challenging books all year long (in 8th grade, they read just one book which was a 5th grade level book). N

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my children went to Reiche. I don't usually post reviews online, but after seeing the horrible rating on this site, I felt compelled. The teachers are incredible: hardworking, intelligent, creative, and caring. They are so good at building community in an amazingly diverse school for Maine. The international potluck will rock your tastebuds and the talent show will have you weepy at least once. Every teacher is intensely committed and focused on seeing students not only grow from an academic perspective, but also as a person - developing the skills necessary to navigate the evolving world around us. Each teacher our kids have had thus far are true educators who are committed to seeing their students succeed AND working with parents and the administration to make sure there is a true team supporting the development of the student. As a result of this, Waynflete has developed a culture that balances both excellence and psychological safety, while focusing on the whole child.
