Posted by a parent on 8/17/2014awesome community support through fund raising and involved pto. amazing learning garden. disconnect with school administration (principal) / parents & students. large class sizes take away from one on one instruction. no cafeteria on grounds. school grounds not well cared for, lots of trash outside
Posted by a parent on 8/14/2013Longfellow has good test scores, however, it is a school that "teaches to the test," at the expense of promoting critical thinking abilities in children. Additionally, it has an incredibly homogenous student body. There is almost no ethnic diversity.

There were many fun activities such as movie nights and engaging field trips, allowing the child brain to develop new skills in different subjects (social and academically). 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter went here for 6 of the most important and enriching years of her school experience. The entire school is so committed to their students -and parents too. I cannot say enough good things really. My daughter was and is developmentally challenged and has ADHD, but they kept her with her peers and helped her in and outside of class. She felt a special part of the community, loved and cared for and supported in many ways. The diversity of the community is the strength of the school in many ways. I can't imagine a better environment to grow and learn and develop in. The new construction and renovations going on will really help in many of the ways they excel and expand their impact as educators. We were blessed beyond words.
