It has been truly the WORST year for my Son, who is in first grade at this school. One time the school instructed to put all the students on the online classes because of COVID constrain. During this time, we noticed our Son's teacher's teaching style. The teacher is focused ONLY on the kids who are participating actively and on those who like to answer all the questions. She is not making ANY effort on the students who truly needs a little extra help as my child or pushing them to engage in any activity with other classmates. Today, My husband went on a field day activity at my Son's school and watched our child and his teacher from a distance. Our child played with the other kids for several minutes, and then when it was a different activity, he lost interest, stopped playing, and sat on the ground alone. The teacher is standing next to my child and has no motivation to ask him or push him back to the playing field. Our Son disliked his school. Sometimes he refused to go to school as it was no longer his happy place, and it was a war to wake him up from his bed every day! We all know that a positive classroom environment is a primary reason kids want to go to school and enjoy learning. Unfortunately, our child is not lucky enough to experience this. In overall, I don't understand how someone who might not be fit to be a teacher gets the credentials and a teaching position!! The lady got no interest in Children who needed a little extra help; when I say extra help, I am not saying help for a special child—helping a child who learns in different ways and paces! I wondered if the school evaluates the teachers and takes necessary actions. Just because she refused to provide him additional support and could not accommodate him in her classroom, our Son has been affected for the entire year! I will avoid this teacher AT ANY COST!!!Parent Review4y ago10 Reviews - Glen Haven Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy boys (K and second grade) love this school. They are eager to share with me what they learn when they get home. Teachers communicate with me regularly and send home optional homework. The PTA is very active and there are extracurricular activities after school and through Kids After Hours.Parent Review6mo ago24 Reviews - Kemp Mill Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI met only one Teacher she was nice, but overall the school was very disorganized and the school staff lack information. My daughter dislike Burnt Mills ES. There are data where the bus forgets to pick up the students and the school dont even warn the parents. Busses are extra packed. We are so happy we moved out of Silver Spring, MD and found a better school where my daughter actually loves to go to learn.Parent Review1y ago34 Reviews - St Andrew Apostle School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI really like the school, the community is great and I make some really good friends much better then Westover Elementary school. But I don’t like the amount the homework where getting I mean… ya it’s helping us for college but sometimes we have a project to do while we have a test the day before the project is due. Over all the school is great it’s just the homework. :)Student Review11mo ago10 Reviews - St Bernadette School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOVERALL THIS SCHOOL IS MEDIOCRE. FIRSTLY, THE ADMINISTRATION IS EXTREMELY RUDE TO THEIR STUDENTS. THE TEACHERS THEMSELVES ARE OKAY, BUT THE ADMINISTRATION ARE UNBEARABLE. THERE WERE SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE MIDDLE SCHOOL BATHROOMS. SEVERAL STUDENTS WERE CONDUCTING EXTREMELY INAPROPRIATE BEHAVIORS IN THE RESTROOM. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A SPECIFIC GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS, EVERYONE HAD THEIR PRIVACY INVADED AND WERE PUNISHED. BATHROOM DOORS WERE FORCED TO BE WIDE OPEN FOR ANYONE TO PEEK IN OR HEAR PRIVATE THINGS. THE SCHOOL ALSO BEGAN ABUSING THEIR POWER TOWARDS THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. THEY BEGAN "MAKING UP RULES" THAT WERE NOT IN THE STUDENT HANDBOOK, JUST TO CREATE TROUBLE AND HAVOC WITHIN THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT. THE SCHOOL ALSO STRUGGLED WITH TEACHER RETENTION DUE TO AN UNSTABLE AND JUDGING COMMUNITY. THE SCHOOL HAS BEEN LYING TO THE COMMUNITY. THE SCHOOL ANNUALLY HOSTS A "FUN RUN" TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE SCHOOL. THREE YEARS AGO, THEY DECIDED TO RAISE MONEY FOR A SCHOOL PLAYGROUND. THE STUDENTS EXCEEDED THEIR GOAL TO PURCHASE ALL THE MATERIALS FOR THE PLAYGROUND AND TO HIRE CONSTRUCTION WORKERS TO BUILD IT. THE SCHOOL RAISED MONEY FOR THE SAME EXACT CAUSE THE NEXT YEAR, AND THIS SCHOOL YEAR. ALTHOUGH THEY HAD RAISED ENOUGH MONEY THE FIRST YEAR, THEY CONTINUED IGNORING CONCERNS ABOUT WHERE THE MONEY HAD GONE AND WHY THEY HAD TO KEEP RAISING IT FOR THE SAME CAUSE AGAIN. THE SCHOOL FINALLY STARTED CONSTRUCTION ON THE PLAYGROUND DURING THE LAST FEW MONTHS OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR. SOME STUDENTS CONTINUED RAISING MONEY FOR A PLAYGROUND THEY NEVER GOT TO ENJOY, AS THEY WERE LEAVING THIS YEAR. THE STAFF MEMBERS GIVE NO CARE OR SYMPATHY WHATSOEVER TO THE STUDENTS. FOR EXAMPLE, THE STUDENTS WERE FORCED TO "HAVE FUN" OUTSIDE ON FIELD DAY, WHICH SEEMS LIKE A POSITIVE EVENT. HOWEVER, IT WAS HEAVILY RAINING AND FREEZING COLD THE DAY OF. THE SCHOOL KNEW IN ADVANCE THAT RAIN WOULD OCCUR, AND MANY STUDENTS WERE DISTRESSED AND LASHING OUT IN MALICIOUS WAYS. SEVERAL STUDENTS RECEIVED PHYSICAL AND ALSO MENTAL INJURIES THAT DAY. THIS SCHOOL WILL TEACH YOUR STUDENTS BAD PROSPECTS (HABITS, MORALS, VICES, OR OVERALL BEHAVIORS) AND LEAVE THEM WITH SEVERAL HEALTH ISSUES (MENTAL, PHYSICAL, ETC..) IN CONCLUSION, YOU SHOULD NOT SEND YOUR STUDENT TO SAINT BERNADETTE SCHOOL IF YOU DO NOT WANT THEM TO BE PREYED ON BY THE ADMINISTRATION. IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILDREN, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. THEY WON'T BE WELL TAKEN CARE OF, RESPECTED, OR BECOME FORMIDABLE ADULTS. PS. THE PRINCIPAL IS STILL NICE, IG.Other Review1mo ago52 Reviews - Kemp Mill Montessori School Kehillat Montessori
