Jackson Road Elementary School

I loved this school, the teachers and all the people in this facilities are very welcome.

Best counselor, I found it the way I was recommended!

I met only one Teacher she was nice, but overall the school was very disorganized and the school staff lack information. My daughter dislike Burnt Mills ES. There are data where the bus forgets to pick up the students and the school dont even warn the parents. Busses are extra packed. We are so happy we moved out of Silver Spring, MD and found a better school where my daughter actually loves to go to learn.

I am very happy that my 2nd grader is pleased with this school and has made many great friendships, since we enrolled in Pre K. I feel like the social connections and atmosphere is safe for children and I don't have to worry about my child getting exposed to concerning things at this young age. The academics are challenging which is a good thing. There are many opportunities for parental involvement and it's encouraged which I appreciate! I recommend this school, you won't be disappointed. Oh like others have said, you always see the principal around which goes a long way. He's approachable and pleasant, as is the staff!

We have two kids going to Forcey and our experience has been nothing short of exceptional. The teachers we have interacted with were passionate about their job and excellent role models to their students. Our daughter was able to form friendships easily in the school's nurturing environment that often feels like one big happy family. Overall, the school has provided an excellent environment for our daughter's spiritual, physical, personal and intellectual growth.

As a parent of a toddler who is now in her third year attending Julia Brown, I want to emphasize the attentive care and consideration the school's faculty has for the students. The inclusive, respectful, and inviting environment cultivated by the teachers, students, and parents makes Julia Brown a fantastic community for any child to be a part of.On my child's first day back to school this week, she started in a new classroom with a new lead teacher. She shared with me, unprompted, that the teacher sat with her at the table on a small chair during lunch and ate alongside her. My child went into detail about how the teacher used sauce with her food, and she was also excited to share that her teacher taught her a new song to get ready to line up and was genuinely kind. The fact that a grown person sat on a toddler-sized chair to cultivate community is a big deal in itself, but to sit, eat, have a real conversation, and model respect and kindness goes above and beyond. From the Director of the school, Ms. Jones, to the Directress (shoutout to Ms. Espinal) and the many wonderful teachers who make up the faculty, I am so impressed. I am truly grateful for how much my child has grown, learned, and been cared for here.Whenever my husband or I have had a question, the faculty team has always been incredibly responsive. Ms. Jones's leadership has been fantastic, and I am so excited for my child to continue her journey this school year!
