Read what parents are saying about Brookhaven Elementary SchoolI have never seen a school in MCPS who cares about their students quite like Brookhaven ES. I wish I could have my son stay here but sadly, he is in 5th grade this year. I highly recommend this school because they care about their students not only academically, but also, emotionally. I will never forget one time, I have received a phone call from one of the teacher telling me how my son was acting different about two days in a row. And I know my son is a very active and positive child. So I went to talk to him and he shared what was bothering him and I gave him my advise and since then I felt more connected to him at his age. I knew then, I wasn’t absent on that stage of his life. And I thank them because they are very involved with the students and parents. I love this school, I have way too many stories why this is a perfect school to get your child start up with. Go bobcats!
Posted by a parent on 8/23/2020I LOVE Brookhaven!! I have two children that are excelling at Brookhaven. The principal-Mr. Grundy is a wonderful man and I just love the faculty and staff! For a city school, you get the "hometown" feeling here. The teachers are just as involved and concerned about the children's development as the parents! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Ms. Johnson, Mrs. Ulrich, Ms. Seiler, and Mrs. McDaniel!. The environment here is very conducive to a child's learning. Daily recital of the Bobcat Code and College Chant instills in the children responsible behavior and the importance of education.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOut of the 4 schools I've been to, Barnsley is my all-time favorite. The CES program was the best part of my schooling because the advanced learning put me ahead of my peers once I got to middle school. Even during the Covid pandemic, the teachers were extremely supportive and went out of their way to make sure we got a proper education. They also have a great program for people who are deaf or hard of hearing! I highly recommend checking out this Blue Ribbon school, especially to attend the CES program!Other Review5mo ago - Maryvale Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy oldest daughter who’s now in Highschool (11th grade) went to Maryvale Elementary, and it laid the foundation of academic discipline for her to excel throughout the years. She’s now taking AP courses and is enrolled in Montgomery College dual enrollment program. My youngest is in her last year at Maryvale as of 2021. It’s been an amazing experience for her as well. The French immersion program is fantastic. Kudos to all the wonderful teachers and staff and special shout-out to Mrs. Prin, Principal, and Mr Bowerman, Vice Principal. They are simply exceptional leaders who truly care and they certainly shone bright throughout the pandemic with their unwavering support and availability. The Maryvale family has been great to my daughters. If you’re considering this school, I highly recommend it.Parent Review2y ago - Meadow Hall Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school teachers use an app called ClassDoJo in order to communicate with parents. The MH PTA is very strong and supportive. Bus drivers are always on time, and breakfast is for free no matter the income. Lunch is $2.55 with no Gov support etc., which is very inexpensive, teacher/student ratio is very low as well. No complaints on my end.Parent Review4mo ago - Rock Creek Valley Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth my sons went to RCV and did great. Wonderful neighborhood school where kids and parents walk to everyday. These generalized reviews are idiotic, apparently there is some aspect of wholeness that is not up to par. Pfft.. Oh, both boys graduated from UMD and I think there great start is because of RCVParent Review1y ago - Wheaton Woods Elementary School
