Fruitland Intermediate School

This is my son's second year in this school. Kintergarden worked out great because every class has a teacher's assistant. We had a great K year. First grade is not so good. The classes are 26+ students with one teacher. The teachers are overwhelmed and the kids are suffering because of it. People in this area say this is one of the best schools but I second guess this. The teachers don't have the opportunity to be great. This whole area Salisbury/Fruitland suffers from over population and run down schools. The principal is really good but something needs to be done about the school problems in this area. Go private school if you can.

This schools administration preaches about anti bullying, claims they don't tolerate it. My 9 year old is in therapy because she is constantly picked on and harassed by fellow students. Yesterday she was physically assaulted three times and the boys punishment was to stand against the wall! The administration does NOTHING to put a stop to these actions. These kids NEED to be held accountable.

It's been a rough road with my son because he is autistic and it was kind of a rocky start with getting him an IEP but I think that mostly had to do with his doctor not documenting his disability properly. My son's special education teacher Kelsey Johnson is amazing and they have done their best to work with us when we had trouble between him transitioning into going to school for his first year and transportation issues. They went above and providing what my son needs to feel comfortable while he is there and now if I go to move plan to stay in this school district because of how well he is doing just from a few hours a week, next year hopefully he'll transition to full time with little to no obstacles.

School staff does not respond to parents concerns via emails, in person or phone calls. Leaving a nonverbal child unsafe. Not properly following iep for special needs students

A friend and I went here and some of the teachers were not licensed to teach. My friend was verbally abused by a teacher and I personally was put into the cafeteria room for the last quarter of the year with no interactions with any of the other students because I kept saying the F word. They should not put a child in solitary confinement for that.

This school offers a great education. Teachers and staff truly care about students. Welcomes all children. And is faith based community oriented and safe environment.
