We have a 10-year relationship with GCS and I currently have 3 children enrolled. Our family has had a wonderful experience, and our Children love the school. We are in the River Hill School District, which is an excellent public option. However, we send our Children to GCS for the small class size, personal attention and nurturing environment. The school student body is small by design, but the support and community network feels large and robust. I highly recommend GCS for families looking for strong academic college-prep education, in an intimate environment.

Both of our children are enrolled in Glenelg, and have been there since the age of 3. Everything about GCS is exceptional. We give it the highest recommendation and will never take our children out of this school.

My family have really been happy with our overall experience at Glenelg Country School. We enrolled our first daughter at GCS in her 10th grade year and I must say that we were thrilled at the tremendous impact the transfer had on her. She was always looking forward to going to school. There was no longer a communication gap, but an engaging and warm environment for a student. She joined two sports team which became another community for her that she could lean on as a transfer. The students on her teams were so wonderful and focused and that made the transition for her very easy. There was also peace of mind that came with having her at GCS leading to us enrolling our second child.Communication and feedback we get from my their teachers are amazing. They always update you and are willing to help their students. And being a college prep school, we did not have to bother so much when it was time for her to prepare for college because the school had college counselors who helped her with every step to ensure that the process was smooth. GCS funds a lot of programs and activities which are always very beneficial to her students. The school values diversity and teachers are always about bringing out the best in the children. Whenever I reached out with a question, I always received a prompt reply. At this point, we have our last child at the school and it has only being a WOW experience. With a great Sports, Arts, STEM, Tech programs and a great environment where students are nice and respectful to teachers and one another, our daughter was very ready for college and this has reflected so much on her performance at school academically and sports wise, and we can see the same in our last two that are currently attending.

We have two daughters that started at Glenelg Country School this year as 5th and 7th graders. Prior to switching, my husband and I often shared concerns about whether their school was the best fit for them. We kept hoping its positive attributes would outweigh the negative ones. When we finally decided to make the change to GCS, we noticed an immediate improvement in our daughters’ academic performance and attitude. They no longer dreaded going to school, instead, they were excited!Their teachers genuinely love their jobs and make each kid feel valued and appreciated for their unique contributions. My older daughter went from an average student academically with anxieties about school to getting A’s and being eager to go to school. More importantly, she now realizes her potential rather than sinking lower into self-doubt. Both daughters have formed strong friendships and feel a sense of belonging in a supportive community. As a parent, I love the smaller class sizes, the positive energy of the teachers and staff, its beautiful campus, and the diverse activities offered during and after school. My kids appreciate the independence entrusted to them and the welcoming environment. We especially value how curiosity and a sense of exploring are truly encouraged and nurtured. Most noteworthy, however, is that each student is seen as an individual. They get a personalized learning experience rather than the "one size fits all" style. My daughters have expressed deep gratitude for switching schools. They now feel they can confidently navigate through school with the guidance of caring and devoted teachers, coaches, staff, and the GCS community!

Though tuition is high, the education my two children received has been exceptional. Both have gone on to 4 year college schools in the south and both were very prepared. My children attended 8th grade through graduation. Small class sizes - A+. Every student here doesn't graduate with X amount of AP classes, they need to go through the process of being able to prove they can succeed in an AP class (taking an honors class first, etc...). So even though its aggravating as a parent to hear public school students graduating with so many AP credits...GCS curriculum is tough and those on grade level succeed because colleges are aware of GCS's tough curriculum.Student population - melting pot of ethnic backgrounds. It's wonderful to have such a diverse population. They really try to incorporate knowledge and understanding of other cultures. Upper school students right down to primary students participate in programs through the school year working with each other. A++. Teachers (most of them) are truly there for the love of the students and teaching. My children still come back to visit after graduating 4+ years ago. Though there is always "drama" in schools, it is refreshing that there are no fights breaking out at school, safe campus.
