Posted by a community member on 2/26/2022DOES is a fantastic school that has amazing teachers and leadership. When my daughter transferred here in 1st grade in the middle of the school year from another state, the teacher did an amazing job to make her feel welcomed and catch her up. She fit right in and really enjoyed her learning both online and in person. The principle does a great job of communicating to parents and I appreciate the efforts of the PTO to have fun activities for the students. Now in 2nd grade and back on campus she is doing really well and continuing to thrive. The teachers really care about the students and continue to encourage and challenge them. They are doing the best they can and working hard maneuvering in this pandemic time and am so thankful to them.

Posted by a parent on 6/7/2017Really warm and welcoming staff in a beautiful facility. The Principal is so accessible, knows the students by name and is always around with a smile. My son's teachers have been very attentive and really invested in his academic growth. I compared many private schools before we decided to move to allow our children to come to Dayton Oaks. Very happy with the decision!

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe were very happy that St. Louis school chose to accept students in person for the 2020/21 year, while the public schools and many private schools were virtual only. My son benefitted from being in school. Even so his grades and behavior were showing signs of "cabin fever" with all the extra distancing rules. Bizarrely, in May and June when Howard County showed the benefits of the vaccine program, and the public schools reopened (in accordance with CDC and State of MD advice) St. Louis did not make any changes to their regulations, not even following their own guidelines from the Archdiocese of Baltimore. I wrote to the principal, pointing out precise opportunities for changes within the guidelines, but she did not reply to my e-mails. I also talked to the grade teachers about homework issues, and they did respond with an action plan. However I cannot recommend St. Louis school until the current principal (Thomas) has moved on.Parent Review2y ago - Glenelg Country School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have a 10-year relationship with GCS and I currently have 3 children enrolled. Our family has had a wonderful experience, and our Children love the school. We are in the River Hill School District, which is an excellent public option. However, we send our Children to GCS for the small class size, personal attention and nurturing environment. The school student body is small by design, but the support and community network feels large and robust. I highly recommend GCS for families looking for strong academic college-prep education, in an intimate environment.Parent Review3mo ago
