Read what parents are saying about Beltsville AcademySo far, my experience in this school is fantastic. I feel very safe, and almost nobody bullies another person. And if they do, they always get punished. The teachers are great, even if they are strict. Honestly, a lot of kids just don't like doing work here which is why is doing not so well, but for the most part, it is wonderful.
Posted by a student on 9/20/2023I attended beltsville academy a few years ago , and honestly some teachers are welcoming in which made me feel kinda safe. However, some majority of teachers are just rude in ways that aren’t even explainable.. the bathrooms aren’t even clean, they’re very dirty. Some classrooms have mice in them, also some of the walls are falling apart. id say the students that were usually around were very disrespectful, teachers would sometimes compare students to others and it felt very uncomfortable. but these some students think that they’re more than others and teachers would notice these kinds of things and never say anything.
Posted by a parent on 4/4/2023I went to this school for a total of 8 years (Pre-K - 6th) and along the way I learned many life lessons. 99% of the teachers I had made my time at this school truly memorable. The programs such as the Student Ambassadors and the going to Duckworth in the 4th Grade, an being a Safety Patrol gave me the opportunity to make new friends and connect even more with the ones I already had. All of the teachers I had gave me the most excellent time there. Along with the proper school material, they also taught me that it is okay to reach out if there is ever a problem. My mother, aunts, uncles, and cousins all went to this school so a lot of the the teachers had an immediate connection to me which made the experience even better. Looking back, I think I can honestly say that, for me, that was the perfect school.
Posted by a community member on 12/13/2018I am highly disappointed with this school. The staff and teacher's are not welcoming. The main office is completely unorganized and most of the staff members are rude and unprofessional. When I asked to offer my time and resources I was shut down by the teacher. The school should want to build relationship with parents and not push them away. When asked why the school isn't offering snack time this year I was told it was due to mice infestation. I hope the parents who are equally as frustrated speak up and this review helps change the way the school operates in the near future.
Posted by a parent on 9/16/2016My daughter used to attend Beltsville Academy in kindergarten, now she's returning back for 7th grade and so far it has been the worst experience. There is ano older Hispanic lady in the office who is not only rude and inconsiderate, half of the time she doesn't have any knowledge of what is going on or what she is talking about. It seems like every single time you either speak to her over the phone or see her in person she is just trying to get rid of everyone. Everything in that office is chaotic when she is in charge, but as soon as someone else walks in everything tends to calm down.I think that if she was more of a "people person" things would run a little smoother. Also if she didn't talk down to all the parents and scream so much, it would make all visits to the main office a little more pleasant. Parents literally have to argue with her to get their point across.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTaking the time to write a recent review as prior reviews are severely outdated. Principal Fuller is NOT involved in what goes on at Galway and lets her staff run the show (YIKES!). Fuller does the BARE minimum (IF that). She doesn’t seem bothered by complaints brought forth by parents (very concerning). Perhaps she used to be a good principal, several years ago, but that’s certainly not the case now.Parent Review2mo ago - Greenbelt Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat community, and the teachers administrators and counselors are unbelievably involved. They use up to date teaching methods. (I can tell, because none of them existed when I was in school.) I wish recess were a lot longer, but I guess that's a county-wide problem.Parent Review7mo ago - Calverton Elementary School
