Pine Grove Middle School

My daughter has been going to SOES since PreK3 and we have loved every single second of it up until this year. Her first grade teacher has been less than impressive and you can tell this is only a job for her. That she doesn’t actually care about how well her students are doing. We are only two months into the school year and I wish we could transfer to another teacher. The fact that she didn’t even acknowledge my daughter at the trunk or treat event this year was extremely disheartening. I sure do hope this is just a one off year and that next year is much better

I honestly used to love the school, we had been here for 3 years at least. Unfourtunately our taste soured when another student physically harmed my student and the school did 0, the board did 0 and basically we protect children with behaviors and anger issues who hurt other students. With no reprecussions.. kids with behaviors basically get away with tons. Teachers hands are tied and if you ask for help/ change its not going to happen. This year 3 seperate times my childs glasses have been messed with by others in her class, broken ive repaired twice the last time was unrepairable.. i had to pay 300 for a new pair 0 consequences for other child.. and refused to help me contact childs parent to resolve issues. Its just an overall mess. If you want your child to hate school, be miserable and be influenced by others then yup.. this is for you.

My son has had horrible experiences with bullying at this school and the principal and teachers act as if they know nothing and will do nothing. I was told by the assistant principal to tell my son to stay away from the boy. Completely insensitive, completely rude, completely unsafe!

Everyone at the school is very engaging and friendly, Both kids love going to school and are doing well.

St. Ursala's is not a school, it is a conformity and indoctrination machine. If your child has any individuality, they will try to strip them of it and indoctrinate them in their religious ideology. I attended St. Ursala's and other catholic schools and I can tell you from first hand experience that they have fallen considerably in quality and morallity. A child brought live ammunition to schools and they said it was okay and safe because it was not a firearm. A member of the church community made threats about attacking people with a lead pipe at the school to "defend his faith" and they said not to worry becasue no threat was really made. The staff's only concern seems to be indoctinating your child into their ideology.

We love SJS! The night before visiting other schools, I reached out last minute to request a tour, not knowing if they could fit us in. The Admissions Director immediately welcomed us. From the moment we arrived, everything changed. My husband and I prayed in the parking lot asking God for guidance, and we instantly felt a sense of peace. Even before stepping inside, I knew we were exactly where we were meant to be. The school felt like home right away, not just because of the strong academics, but because of the faith-filled, welcoming community. We left that day knowing without a doubt that SJS was where our boys belonged. We knew that choosing a Catholic education would be a sacrifice, but 4 years later our boys are thriving. Choosing to send our boys to SJS remains one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We’re so grateful for the teachers, administrators, and incredible community.
