Posted by a parent on 5/10/2013this school can be above average with grades. But their teachers need to work on how to handle student situations.

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a wonderful school. The teachers are very dedicated to advancing the students as well as themselves. I often hear about them taking classes after work to become even better teachers! The principals and office staff are very helpful, a bit understaffed but still hard workers. When my child had a small issue with another student it was handled quickly and with a lot of real concern and care. The students are typical kids. A couple might have behavior problems but the rest are pretty decent. There is a lot of support at this school. I'm glad we came here.Parent Review7y ago - Hilton Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal at this school is horrible. If I could give her zero stars I would. When you make complaints about anything regarding your child it is not taking seriously. Messages ignored when you try to take the high road regarding your child. It’s like she doesn’t care it’s been this way for years and I’m not sure how she is a principal. The school is very disorganized. You can’t even walk into the building to sit in your child’s class to see how they are doing in school. Parents just standing outside for dismissal and pick up and they wonder why fights break out. I mean very disorganized. Some of the teachers at this school doesn’t care enough for my liking. Will not let you know the progress of your child all they tell you is to go online instead of a teacher who actually reached out to the parent for concerns. I haven’t had any experiences where my child was talked to disrespectfully but the school itself has gone down hill.Parent Review2y ago - Liberty Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average5 stars for my grandson’s pre-k teacher, Tocarra Frederick. He was four years old at the time, and only attended for half of the school year before we moved, but he learned a lot. By the time he entered kindergarten at a new school (which is rated 9/10), he knew so many sight-words that we was ahead of his classmates. He was also reading before his classmates. Today, he is an excellent reader, good in math, science, and other subjects, because of the foundation built with the teaching skills of Ms. Frederick.1 star for so many parents hanging in the hallway and cafeteria, seemingly doing nothing by way of support. I was shocked to see some unruly children running in the halls and no one saying anything. When I asked someone why there’s no discipline, they responded that they were fearful that the child’s parent might be around and may get angry for disciplining the child. That was weird. I hope that has changed.2 stars for the crammed driveway and street to drop off and pickup your child. It’s a mess—although the friendly attendants trying to keep it organized and flowing deserve 5 stars.Parent Review1y ago - Lyndhurst Elementary School
