Read what parents are saying about Frederick Douglass High SchoolIt’s terribkd seeing these horrific students here
Posted by a community member on 11/19/2018Horrible. The leadership at this school holds no students accountable for their actions when they allow educators to. E assaulted at the students discretion. Pathetic leadership!!!!!
Posted by a community member on 11/7/2018I had the opportunity to work with students, staff and administration this fall semester and had a very positive experience. The school is not perfect, but it definitely making strides toward excellence in increasing student readiness for college and careers in the building and with partnerships with Coppin. They have done an amazing job creating an environment where students enjoy coming to school, and don't rush to get home when their schedule, or the day is complete.
Posted by a community member on 12/7/2017Frederick Douglass is an amazing school. We miss Dr. Hurt but still moving forward. This will not affect the direction the school's going in. My child is apart of the early college program and have excelled in many ways from the program. It's good to hear my son share that his teachers are serious about him passing. Parents at Douglass stay involved with your child so they can benefit from the amazing programs at Douglass.
Posted by a parent on 5/23/2014I'm a student that attended this school and graduated in 2011. What so ever I've never had a problem out of my teachers the staff nor the principle. I disagree with what a teacher said about students wouldn't come to school due to the weather. My class and the under class men always attended school on the regularly. We know that want to achieve something in life so we went to school in order to get where wanna be. I am now a senior at Morgan state university majoring in Fashion Construction. Me attending and graduating from Frederick Douglass have me a lot of inspiration to continue and further my education.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is horrible. I'm in the process of transferring my two children out of there now. They do not teach these children. Children are wild and rowdy, and in turn the teachers are always yelling and screaming. The fighting that goes on there is ridiculous. They don't follow up with you on any issue, from the teachers to the principal. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!! Test scores are horrible.Parent Review9y ago - Gwynns Falls Elementary School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a wonderful school. The teachers are very dedicated to advancing the students as well as themselves. I often hear about them taking classes after work to become even better teachers! The principals and office staff are very helpful, a bit understaffed but still hard workers. When my child had a small issue with another student it was handled quickly and with a lot of real concern and care. The students are typical kids. A couple might have behavior problems but the rest are pretty decent. There is a lot of support at this school. I'm glad we came here.Parent Review7y ago - Hilton Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal at this school is horrible. If I could give her zero stars I would. When you make complaints about anything regarding your child it is not taking seriously. Messages ignored when you try to take the high road regarding your child. It’s like she doesn’t care it’s been this way for years and I’m not sure how she is a principal. The school is very disorganized. You can’t even walk into the building to sit in your child’s class to see how they are doing in school. Parents just standing outside for dismissal and pick up and they wonder why fights break out. I mean very disorganized. Some of the teachers at this school doesn’t care enough for my liking. Will not let you know the progress of your child all they tell you is to go online instead of a teacher who actually reached out to the parent for concerns. I haven’t had any experiences where my child was talked to disrespectfully but the school itself has gone down hill.Parent Review2y ago - John Eager Howard Elementary School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has attended this school for 2 years. She has excelled in reading, being moved to a higher class to continue to challenge her. Also, she has improved in math and anytime there was an issue with my child I was notified by the principal. The school is always open if I need to visit to check on my child and the staff all seem competent and polite. So far I am satisfied with the performance of this school. They do have a PTA who along with the principal is always willing to help the families of students in any way they can. They also offer assistance with getting your child to and from school if you are too sick to take them yourself! They offer awards, certificates, and other incentives to encourage the students to work hard.Parent Review8y ago - Rosemont Elementary School
