Read what parents are saying about Cunniff Elementary SchoolThis is a small community school with dedicated teachers, staff and principal. They have been wonderful with our daughter and have gone above and beyond to help her in so many different ways. It just has a wholesome feel that is so different from other schools. It is a gem, didn't know such schools existed anymore. The focus is really on each individual child and their strengths and weaknesses, and the principal knows every student's name.
Posted by a parent on 9/29/2016The Cunniff school has been a wonderful place for our child for the last 4.5 years. We went from Pre K to 3rd grade and we love teachers and principal. It's a small school, so kids, parents and the teachers know each other well. I would definitely recommend it.
Posted by a parent on 12/17/2015We moved to Cunniff after independent schools became too expensive. We were skeptical at first. While it doesn't have the resources of a school that cost 30K a year, the principal, teachers, and staff work very hard. There is a lot of parent involvement. We have been happy, and so has our daughter, who is thriving.
Posted by a parent on 3/19/2014This school has always been wonderful, however when they got a new principal last year it really has gone down hill. The new principal never seems to have an answer to any of the questions myself or other parents have asked. She just does not have what it takes to be a principal, so the Cunniff school has severely suffered as well as the children who attend, because of Mena Ciarlone!

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere is nothing special about this school or its approach to learning. It is a very diverse school in terms of student diversity, economics, family values. Some parents seem very engaged while some have no involvement at all. The PTO at this school badly needs new faces and friendly faces too. Some on the PTO are not at all parent friendly. There are some behavior issues with students and that makes classroom learning difficult. I am a mom to 3 children and could never recommend Watertown Public Schools to anyone.Parent Review5y ago - St Jude School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWalnut Park is a gift to our family! Our children -- today 3 and 5 -- started in the toddler room and now share a primary classroom. They are curious, compassionate, and confident people, and they ask wonderful and interesting questions about how the world works. It has been a joy getting to know their teachers, who are always willing to share with us how a work in the classroom relates to a skill with which we are familiar, be it recognizing letters and sounding out words or adding and subtracting numbers. These fundamentals and others are complemented and enhanced by art, music, play, yoga, the list goes on. As parents, we often find ourselves wishing we could spend the day as our children do -- with people who care and opportunities to explore. It is a very special place.Parent Review1y ago - P'tits Bouts
