Read what parents are saying about Atlantic Middle SchoolThe education here is horrible. Last year, our class had to be taught 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication in 6th grade! We also had to still learn our times table. I find this baffling of course, because in the prior year (primary school) I was in the Reach Program which was for advanced kids, and I got placed in a group that didn’t even know how to do basic math the next year. I also find it pretty preposterous that the syllabus for the advanced classes is nearly the same as the regular classes. What is the point if we learn the same material, no matter whether you’re a moron or work diligently day after day? It is also really tedious how we keep learning the same material for each grade. I’m also not sure if it’s just for varying teachers, but some of the classes provided little to no homework this year and last year, which was quite strange. Moving on from 6th grade though, the current semester is still horrible. Some of the teachers (will not name for personal and privacy reasons) keep babbling about their personal life instead of actually teaching us. They do this same routine for about 30 minutes; (mind you, we have 50 minutes for each class period.) They also aren’t willing to help most students, and I have seen some intolerant behavior from some of them! Such as swearing, racism, discrimination, etc. Oh and not to mention, sometimes we barely get any class assignments (sometimes for two weeks or more than that) and then we just sit in class doing nothing, possibly only able to chat with the companions at our table and whatnot. **This is in BOTH advanced and regular classes by the way.**There needs to be better education! Period.
Posted by a student on 2/22/2024If I can give one star I would!!From my experience as a parent and my kid was there, it's the worst school I ever seen, all the administrations, and some teachers and the worst was Mrs. Schneller the principal there, I really can't find a word to describe what happened for my kid there, because I asked her/ the principal / where my kid lost the points, the fire opened on me and my kid from her and from other teachers too and my kid lost more and more from the scores, and she put my kid in 15 detentions in one month, why because he ran one time in the hallway and helped some of classmates in math, science, ELA, and social study classes, because it's friends needed his help and some teachers there not have time to help all the students!l love Quincy very much and because this I should to post here and this school forced us to move from this beautiful place / Quincy/, because this school isn't safe for our kids with this principale and administration there!!
Posted by a parent on 6/18/2023I have bel keen at Atlantic middle school for 1 year and I am now going into 7th grade. Atlantic May not be in it's best condition but just beacuse our school is not brand new like central we still have amazing teachers and staff. I personally think Atlantic should be re done but we should keep the AJHS that is on the wall where the gym is, beacuse it shows our AMS pride and how long this school has running

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI currently have 2 students that attend NHCS. One in middle school and the other graduating from high school. When my children first attended the school In elementary I truly loved the school. This year my child started middle. This is the first time since my children have attended the school that I am not happy. The principal of the middle runs it like a BPS school. He doesn’t encourage teacher parent relationship, he is ok with living children outside alone with no adult supervision, and the middle school doesn’t have a special education teacher. Therefore my child and other child have falling behind academic. Some of the teachers have nasty attitudes towards parents and students. I am strongly concerning pull my child out of this school and maybe trying later for high school!Parent Review4mo ago - Murphy K-8 School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child went to this school from grade 1 to grade 6. The teachers are incredibly disrespectful and entitled to themselves. The principal is incredibly disrespectful and only seems to care about how the school is portrayed. The principal puts up an act of kindness and respect, in reality she tries to make the school seem diverse and a safe area to be taught in. There have been bullets found in the playground, vapes, and numerous fights have gone on in the building during school hours.Other Review3mo ago - Thomas J. Kenny School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school. I used to go here. Infact, I would be a pretty good student here. there were all types of people and personality’s. It was fun to walk into school and see what would go down, or what crazy and exciting stuff the teachers would do. Sometimes, kids who finished at that school would come and visit at the end of the day. And principal bryan(t? so sorry if i spelt it wrong) was an amazing principal. Great work. There were small mishaps here and there and silly elementary drama, but it was mostly solved or forgotten, Great school with good opportunities, yet, making friends can be hard, coinciding is great.Other Review1y ago - Adams Montessori School
