Posted by a student on 3/4/2022I recommend any parent who's child is in/or will be in 7th or 8th grade to GO SEE for yourself what HJHMS has to offer! HJHMS has an excellent curriculum and offers a variety of electives, such as, Music, Spanish, Engineering, Computer, Theater, Art, just to name a few. The principal, Mr. Perry, is wonderful and the teachers are terrific! They all work together and truly care about each and every child's success. This is our first year and I am very impressed with the school. I have yet to meet a teacher that is not happy about teaching at HJHMS. You are always greeted with smiling faces and the faculty and staff will go out of their way to make sure you and your child have a great experience. I just can't say enough. Your child is missing out if they are not attending HJHMS.
Posted by a parent on 9/19/2013Hammond Junior High Magnet School in Hammond, La offers a great curriculum. My daughter is taking 2 science electives and a journalism elective. She loves her options. It took her a while to decide which electives she wanted because of the number of choices offered.
Posted by a parent on 9/5/2013I really like my new school, Hammond Junior High Magnet School in Hammond, La. It is my second school to ever attend. I like changing classes and the block schedule. I am enjoying meeting new friends. I am having to adjust to an early schedule so right now I feel sleepy is my classes.

Academic scores excelled from innovative curriculum and hands on learning techniques. Parental involvement has increased with community awareness enhanced. Way-to-Go HJHMS

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is getting ready to attend his third year at the Lab school and I have nothing but good experiences. I absolutely loved the 2nd grade teacher. Since the public schools are so poorly rated in this area and the private schools are to expensive I have found this to be a great alternative to public school and the tuition is affordable.Parent Review7y ago - Hammond Westside Elementary Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been a parent (continually) at Harvest Christian academy since Fall of 1995. I have graduated two children from Harvest and will graduate my last child this coming school year (2011-2012). My two HCA graduates are now juniors, one in college and one in high school. Over the last 16 years I have liked and disliked some things at Harvest school but the most important element of HCA, that hasn't changed, is the Christian principles and standards that all students are required to uphold. This school is a Bible based school that teaches core subjects: math, english/reading/literature, history, science, and physical education. THE TEACHERS at HCA are all Louisiana certified. The administration has worked amicably over the years each time I had a parental concern for my child. This past school year Harvest church blessed the school by completing the gymnasium. Thanks to Harvest church our basketball teams had a place on campus to practice! I am sad this is my families' last year at HCA. A GREAT CHRISTIAN SCHOOL!Parent Review12y ago - Trafton Academy At Hammond

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTrafton is a great school. My child is currently in 7th grade and has been there since Kindergarten. He is able to participate in sports, takes Spanish, does in depth projects and reports. I feel he will do well in high school and beyond as a result of the great education he has received at Trafton.Parent Review12y ago - Holy Ghost School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was excited for my son to attend Holy Ghost school. I supported every fundraiser and had planned to be very involved in the school. Sadly, the principal and teacher’s constant negativity towards my 3 year old son, and their toxic, irrational behavior drove me to pull my son out of the school after only two months. Very disappointed.Parent Review5mo ago - Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist School & Daycare

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has made a lasting impression on my now teenage son. He attended the school until he graduated from kindergarten. It was such a nurturing environment. His love of literature and math, inspired there, has lead to him to become at ease with any subject requiring these skills. He also continues to have a great aptitude for foreign languages. -Mrs. HaynesParent Review12y ago
