Read what parents are saying about Denham Springs High SchoolIt all depends on the teacher, the subject they teach and who’s all your class and how well they all get along.
Posted by a student on 4/15/2023I hope you or your student has some self-motivation, because your going to need it. My brother dropped out of this school in his sophomore year because he never tried, and I can see why with how little care they show for the individual. The administration is the real problem at this school. (Teachers are fine, especially those teaching AP and honors classes) They show care for nothing but the numbers. I've heard many stories of corruption in the administration, such as raising test scores for no reason other than making the school look better. The courses that are offered can also lack in MANY areas. If a student wanted to go into anything that isn't offered at a technical college, they will be looking at one or two courses that are almost near the general idea of what they would want to do with their life. All in all, the school is only looking at the student body's weakest links, which are swiftly fixed by wrapping some duct tape around it, and no matter how shiny and clean a certain link of this metaphorical chain is, it can only be viewed as "not broken"
Posted by a student on 2/7/2015this school is great. the kids are really nice and I feel I have learned a lot! I am a senior now and looking forward to my last year. I wouldn't change a thing :)
Posted by a student on 7/16/2013DSHS's main concern is Sports. New Football Field & Gym floor, yet not enough books or computers available for students to use. I graduated from DSHS over 30 yrs ago and not have teenagers there. Racism isnt bad, if your an athlete.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWonderful school. The principal is kind and loving. She ALWAYS has the most comforting smile. She really loves these children and wants to see them succeed. All these bad reviews are super old from an old principal. My son is in kindergarten here and he loves it.Parent Review2y ago - Freshwater Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFreshwater is the best elementary school you could ever hope your child to attend. The teachers are so loving and helpful. The principal, counselor, and staff are amazing. The librarian is the sweetest person ever. The bus driver is awesome. They have a carnival for the children every year. There are lots of opportunities for parents to be involved. Freshwater will always hold a special place in my family's heart.Parent Review1y ago - Northside Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat small neighborhood school where the principle really knows all the kids and cares about each one. Devoted and stable group of teachers who truly love to teach. The office ladies, lunch ladies and custodians have all been there a long time and that means a lot to me when I'm trusting them with my little ones for 8 hrs a day. :)Parent Review10y ago - Southside Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExceptional transition to school for Pre-K and Kindergarten students with extraordinary educators, excellent opportunities for family participation & community involvement. Parents and grandparents are welcome and encouraged to be involved with school activities. Students feel special & the teachers genuinely care about their students. There is open communication between parents/guardians and teachers. Bellingrath Hills provides a very safe environment where students can thrive as they confidently make new friends. Students leave well prepared for first grade. I highly recommend this school.Other Review4y ago
