Posted by a community member on 9/6/2014William Pitcher Jr. High is the best school in the whole wide world. I loved it! I attended this school 7th and 8th grade. I wish I could go back. I miss it more and more everyday. I miss everything about it. Mainly the teachers; you could go to them for anything. They were a friend, teacher, and someone you looked up too. I miss the closeness of things. Everyone knew everyone and head each other's back. It helped getting activie in the school. I did volleyball, track, cheer, and softball. I was in NJHS and student counsil. People might have negitive stuff to say, but Pitcher is what you make it. You meet and get close to some really good people that stay with you through high school. Pitcher prepares you for high school as well. Pitcher Proud isn't just a slogan, it is who we are and what we belive in. It's not just a marroon shirt ans kakie shorts its a uniform that I proudly wore the best two years of my life. I will never forget cheering for the football players and basketball players, seeing all the fans cheer, seeing the moms in the crowd, listening to the proud band. Pitcher is in my heart forever.
Posted by a community member on 2/28/2013William Pitcher lacks many things. I have called numerous times and spoke to the principal about the lack of educational standards. I was told this matter would be handled immediately. Needless to say, the matter was not only NOT handled, it was swept under the rug. Teachers change grades to have the school rating higher than what it really is. Also, due dates are never taken seriously. The teachers seem to reward students for social interaction more than academic excellence. This school is a disgrace. I cannot wait until my children go to high school; although they will be very ill-prepared for 9-12 grade.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI took my son out of Lyon Elementary due to a kindergarten Para. My son was in an RNC class. Her behavior towards him, as well to a BA I had attend with him, was questionable to say the least. Luckily since I had someone I knew and trusted with him at the school, she was able to tell me things I was not and would have not been made aware of. If you have a child with special needs, be mindful who will be with your child, especially if they are not able to communicate with you. We had an incident with her and as a mother, felt very uncomfortable leaving him with her again. She even came to deliver his stuff to me when I went and unenrolled him and she was rude as ever. I knew I made the right decision right then and there. I would like to add the principal and everyone else I encountered were wonderful. It’s a shame that one person made me feel so unsafe to leave my child there. It’s a shame she even works there.Parent Review1y ago - Covington Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlease be aware that St. PETER'S is NOT equipped to accept children with special needs, though they may claim to when asked. We were immediately asked to submit requests to help the school gain state funding while the only actual (free) support came from outside of the school itself. We were given the cold shoulder when begging over and over for the privilege of enrolling our child, then run out in short order after they eventually, begrudgingly graced us with their acceptance. It was a nightmare and the administration couldn't have been less caring. Not what we expected from a group of self-proclaimed "people of God". Northlake claims the Lord is at the center of their school, but by how it is run, that is not true. Northlake will be a good experience for you if you donate money to the institution, if you attend the churches they want you to, and if you are a tattler and snitch, and if you constantly complain and sucker up to the administration. Academics are below any other private school on the Northshore, and no better than any public school in the area.
