Read what parents are saying about Southeast Middle Schoolmy daughter comes home crying every night because of the administration!
Posted by a parent on 9/1/2023This school is beyond TERRIBLE. The teachers do not teach, the food is disgusting, and the school is nasty. The science teacher in 7th Grade needs to GO, and he's not the only one.
Posted by a student on 4/20/2022I am an Alumni of Southeast MagneT Program for 2015/2016 school year. The teachers in the program are very fun and easy to get along with.
Posted by a community member on 6/29/2017This was my child's first year attending Southeast Middle. She's in the magnet data program. I must admit that I'm very pleased! My child was not interested in reading whenever she came to this school. However now I catch her in her room reading books. Chapter books on/and above her level!!!! I like that they hold the students accountable for AR points by providing a grade and not just recognizing them at the end of the school year with a certificate. Another awesome factors about Southeast Middle- they keep the parents informed & involved. Southeast Middle School You Rock!!
Posted by a parent on 3/30/2017The magnet program is one of the best in Baton Rouge. The administration and staff really care about the kids. There are so many great classes like broadcasting and photoshop that my son never got bored. They feed to Lee Magnet, which is even better!

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey have targeted my child as a problem child when she’s brand new to the school and is being bullied. She sticks up for herself and others and is still singled out. She’s was in 2nd grade and finished her last 3 months there and was crying before school everyday. Her teacher was rude to her and does not handle problems well. One of the faculty members hit my vehicle multiple times because my daughter was wearing shorts a smidge too short for dress down day, i simple phone call to get new clothes would have sufficed.Parent Review10mo ago - Shenandoah Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attended this school for 3 years. It's been a D rated school the whole time. Nothing has improved. There are no activities to motivate the students. No field trips. The so called field day was terrible. Communication is terrible. I send emails asking questions about my child's progress and there are no responses. There's no PTO. The teachers don't even seem to be motivated. For teacher appreciation week, I sent something for each of my child's teacher. My child was the only child in her class to give them something. One of the days she had given a candy jar to the principal. She opened the jar, took out the candy that she wanted and gave it back to my child. I thought that was so disgusting and unappreciative of her. If my child had to attend another year there, I would take advantage of the School Choice and move her somewhere else. I just don't understand why nothing is done to improve this school. I realize it takes more than the teachers. Parents have to be involved as well. This school and others like it are failing our students.Parent Review1y ago - Wedgewood Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI personally have seen nothing but kindness and willingness to help since my child has started attending Wedgewood. I wish there was more support for the teachers as I know this is an ESL learning sight. Everyone is doing their best to make it a great learning experience for ALL students, and I can appreciate that. The school has showed so much improvement academically. As far as I can tell as long as they continue in this direction they'll be one of the higher rated schools in EBR.Parent Review8mo ago - Baton Rouge Adventist Christian School
