St Matthews Elementary School

The Friends School was life changing for our son and family. He attended pre-K there and would have continued to go if we hadn't moved out of state. Our son has ADHD and may possibly be on the spectrum. He has issues dealing with his emotions and had severe behavioral issues. After just one school year, the change in him is amazing to see. He used to be the one who would hit other kids. Now he is the one showing restraint when other kids hit him. He is getting better at sharing and calming himself down. This school is worth every penny and was the best investment we could have made.

OLOL school has been a blessing to our family over the past 9 years. Our children have been taught to be good stewards of their communities, to love and respect others, and always believe in their own value. There are so many ways for students and families to participate and be involved. The teachers and school staff care deeply about the kids. They have worked with us to address the learning differences of our daughter. Both of our children are excelling in their studies. OLOL continues to meet National Blue Ribbon standards, and just received formal recognition for a second time just a few years ago. We love Lourdes, and are proud to be Bearcats!

We have had 4 children go through HT and are very pleased.

I used to be a student here and honestly my experience was horrible, these teachers don’t care about the students and ignore all students if they need help. I have had times when teachers have talked about kids to other teachers and just been completely rude to others. The teachers only care about them selves and the students can not be themselves. The teachers are not motivational and are very self centered. This school makes you have to be friends with everyone and pushes your kid to be a different kid. The middle school is absolutely horrible and does not prepare you for high school. If you are thinking about putting your kid in this school, DON’T!!

The elementary program was a great experience, but the middle school culture is incredibly disappointing. While a few individual teachers are amazing, others only focus on their favorite students. When parents bring up serious issues, the administration makes it clear that your child is not a valued individual. You are just another tuition payment. The high student turnover rate speaks for itself. For a school that actually lives up to its mission of caring for student well-being and academic success, look elsewhere.

A good idea but execution fell apart. Students are not safe and do not learn.
