Swanson Traditional School

A terrible school for even worse people. The experience is absolutely horrendous. I'm currently in 7th grade at the moment and this school is trash. Especially the older students'(7th-8th grade) behavior and bullying problems. To go more in depth, I have a bff who's transgender( go search up this term if you're unaware of it) and he's constantly getting bullied about it. The spinless teachers do absolutely nothing about this however, as they just let him get bullied and say nothing. This school is supposed to be supportive and protective of LGBT students and yet with me and my bff's experiences thus far, the students and teachers don't care for queer people. Another thing, since the teachers don't do anything about my friend's bullying, he is always unfairly in trouble and when I try to step in and help, they won't let me. They also called me and him a ton of offensive slurs and mean words that are but not limited to:

It is an amazing school, however anything above 4th grade, I have had to resort to home schooling due to bully issues and the SBCSC or the schools inability to correct issues, I have a older daughter that attended darden primary as well and she excelled very well there, my hat goes off to you, and I hope other schools will use your school to set a standard to follow!

Diversity is not acceptable, you are an outcast if you're different. Office staff has changed and they no longer care about students. This is not a good example of a catholic school.

This school is run by Grace Church, and has experienced an incredible amount of staff and family turnover. They are currently experiencing another mass exodus of families and teachers after abruptly firing another Head of School. The building is nice, many of the teachers have been nice, but the foundational running of this school is dangerously bad. I'm not entirely sure how they are still accredited. Please, please consider anywhere else for your family.

Our children are thriving here at TMA. The expectations of the school are that children are responsible for communication and performing their work and this can be difficult if you are 'over the shoulder' or your children aren't self-motivated. They pop out the other end independent thinkers, educated children, and form deep friendships. We are not part of the "donor class" referenced in other reviews and we have never felt any dis favoritism. Direct communication with parents is available if and when you need it.

If I had to do over would send my kids to Penn Schools - just overall lack of interest by staff and clergy. If you want to donate money to new buildings you might find experience more rewarding.
