Northcrest Elementary School

I had two daughters attend Forest park (4 yrs apart so we had 10 years of experience with the school. Most of the staff were very passionate and caring. This school has a very diverse student population and we were so pleased with our kids starting their learning here we kept them enrolled even after we moved out of the district. Yes a few issues popped up over the years but they were handled well and it was nothing outside what you’d expect from an elementary school. The newly renovated playground is a bonus for the kids but space is tight at the school because it’s 100yrs old. The pick up and drop off clog the neighborhood so be prepared for that. But overall all it’s a great school and I would recommend it to any parents who value not just the book learning but a whole educational environment that produces great little humans.

I remember crying for a week straight because of how scared I was of letting my special needs child (Rett syndrome) go to school. And then when she got on that bus that first day I cried like a baby knowing I wasn't ready but I had to be because she was. When I say I'm so grateful for how Holland has treated my baby these past 4 years. Words cannot describe the happiness I feel knowing my baby is at the best school for her. Not only has she progressed so much but she's genuinely happier since being at Holland. Some days I even think she likes school better than home. She has such an amazing team there and especially her teacher Mrs. Taylor. If it was up to me that would be her teacher until graduation. I've gone to every field trip with rose and from what I've seen Mrs. Taylor is the type of teacher that makes you want to go to school. The way she interacts with the kids is the most beautiful thing. I swear I love that school so much and for my kids to love it even more makes my heart so happy. If you're a parent in Fort Wayne with a special needs child Holland is the absolute best school. I wouldn't want my kids anywhere else. I haven't met a teacher there yet that didn't overexceed my expectations and I have high expectations. Both my kids love this school so much. I wouldn't want them anywhere else.

As a former student who attended Holy Cross from ages 2 to 14, I have experienced both the positive and negative aspects of this institution. However, my time at this school significantly impacted my mental health in ways that have continued into my high school years. I often felt isolated among my peers, and unfortunately, I received little support from the faculty. For students who are racial minorities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, or individuals with disabilities, I strongly caution against enrolling at Holy Cross. The environment can be detrimental to self-esteem and personal development, as students may find their identity shaped by external expectations rather than personal growth. If you choose to send your child to this school despite these concerns, please be aware of the potential impact it may have on their well-being.

Imagine working at this school for over so many years, been there since you got out of high school and now going on over 25 years with this school, but due to family emergency and a set back to my health I had to leave , they didn’t fired me they put me on leave of absence and now that thing are a tad bit settled with the family my health is still there the same as I was when I was there so considering that I went and try to attain a position back even the lowest and yet to answer shows you how they treat their former employees and to consider them a Christian church.
