Posted by a parent on 10/24/2017I am a teacher at Abbett Elementary School. Our school has a strong sense of family and the teachers give 100% each day for their students. Our test scores are improving each year, and our Principal has been instrumental in getting families involved as well as the community.

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePoor. They are the first acredited public montessori school, but student to teacher ratios make it impossible for them to flourish as a montessori school. Too many adults are interacting with each child with inconsistent discipline techniques, making it confusing for a child. There are too many transitions during the day with a special on each day, making it difficult for children to achieve the focus needed for montessori education. Standardized requirements for kindergarteners means that the children are separated from the 3-6 age block (and their teacher) for half of the day.
