Horrid. I got my kids out as soon as I could.

Racism at this school. Do not send your children here at all. This school is not a safe school.

Avoid this school if possible. I’ve had one struggling learner and one non-struggling learner attend this school. Both had terrible experiences. My daughter with an IEP was not provided services and I was lied to about it. She received zero support from her teachers after several attempts on my side to beg for help. Multiple principal and assistant principals also refused to ensure she learned. My other daughter disliked summit because there are multiple fights a day and it was chaotic. She was humiliated a few times by teachers. The culture is just toxic and low income students are blamed instead of adults taking responsibility.

I attended LCA for 12 years and would not recommend a person go there with a clear conscious. The school provides a toxic environment where students do not get along, and corrupt faculty that will turn on each other. Not all teachers were bad but some definitely did not show God’s love. I remember many times coming beat and depressed from that school instead of accepted and loved. LCA also did not prepare me for college, as they do not offer many duel credit classes. The lack of classes is also concerning. If I were to do it all again I wouldn’t touch that school with a ten foot stick.

Our children have been at BMS for the past 6 years. We have been so happy with our experience at BMS. The teachers tend to stay at BMS for many years. We love the continuity of care where children stay with their teachers for 3 years in each of the age settings (early education, lower elem, upper elem). We also greatly appreciate the ways that they incorporate social-emotional learning into the curriculum. We also greatly prize the Our Whole Lives sexuality education curriculum, which provides age- and developmentally-appropriate information related to topics like bodies, puberty, and reproduction beginning in lower elementary (1st grade on up). Having been at BMS for many years now, we also love seeing how they scaffold skills and encourage increasing amounts of independents, incrementally over the years. There are also lots of opportunities for parents to get involved with the school, if they want to.
