Read what parents are saying about Eisenhower SchoolFor the high taxes I pay to live in south holland, this school sucks!!! They are very nonchalant and don’t care about the students, my grand daughter is not learning anything at this school. I am so glad she will not be attending this school next year.
Posted by a community member on 12/11/2023Terrible; my son attended this school and my husband and I had to have him moved to another classroom. The teacher that we had him moved from was fearful of the students. The students did what they wanted to do; they were very disrespectful!
Posted by a parent on 7/2/2019By far the best school in South Holland.
Posted by a parent on 2/1/2018A great school starts with a great leader which at Eisenhower School is the principal Dr. Rhonda Towner. My family has had children in this school district many years and I've had 4 children attend Eisenhower. This school has people that care, knows how to get children excited about learning, and communicates with the parents regarding the overall educational development of their child. Everyone from the Principal, teachers, staff, are kind, friendly and concerned. I'm am educator myself and I know how great Eisenhower School is. Anyone who says otherwise is simply not true.
Posted by a parent on 1/28/2016My daughter has attended this school for 3rd and 4th grade it's not the worst school but certainly not the best. I gave the school to stars because the teaching style is well not really teaching its more rehearsal for state testing purposes. The school offers little extracurricular activities to the entire school the activities they do offer are for a selected few students it's all by special invitation only. If you are considering relocating with the assumption that this school district is good because the community is suppose to be family oriented don't do it because you will be disappointed. I could pay for private school with the ridiculous amount of property taxes that go to this school district for this mediocre public school district not just this school. If you actually want your child to learn chose another school district.

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDiekman has a new principal and their scores have improved in one year. The school has implemented after school programs, a music program, and involves parents to support during school on "Superhero Parent Days." Diekman supports evening events for families as well. Diekman is becoming Diekman's Best!Other Review10mo ago - Greenwood Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been very pleased with the school and especially the leadership. My two kids were new. I saw nothing but caring and understanding from the principal when I dropped off my students and picked them up daily. I hear that from others as well. What I have witnessed is the principal ensures learning happens so no one student can interrupt the school without consequences or that parents come in being interruptive. Families are always trying to get into Greenwood and I will say living here and being in the school for three years now, I am nothing but happy. The principal has berm nothing but a blessing to the families I know and who have students in the school.Parent Review2y ago - Christ Our Savior Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA Zero!!!! Terrible!! My Child was a Very Quiet, Sweet kid No behavior Problems. The Kindergarten Teacher even said he was Quiet but knew his Work. My Child said "Momma I didn't Learn nothing at that Stupid School." That's really Sad coming from a Six year old. I wouldn't recommend No Parent that Loves their Child, and Care about their Education, and Safety to send their Child to this School. It's plenty other Wonderful Nearby Private Schools that are better. I felt this Review was well needed; because I see there are No up-to-date Reviews on here. This is My True and Honest Opinion and Experience with my Child at this School.Parent Review5y ago - Laren Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you have a perfect and well rounded kid, they will do well at this school. If you have a child who needs additional support, this is not hte place for your child. The administration is predominately white. The students are predominately African American. The only African American teacher is the kindergarten teacher and gym the teacher. Many teachers don't know how to relate to African American students, especially the boys. The way they handle discipline is not equal. Some students are punished while others get a slap on the wrist. There was one male African American assistant principal or dean but he left after two years, and without notice. The principal is not responsive and avoids confrontation. Again, with a student body of predominately African Americans, there are not enough African Americans in adminstrative/faculty roles. Curriculum is solid and your child will get an excellent education if you fall in line and play by the rules. If you require special needs or assistance or would like your child to have a positve role model to interact with on a daily bases, look somewhere else. Lastly it's a little pricey, they do offer financial aid, but the school does not have an HVAC system, so if you have a child with asthma, hot chicago months will be a challenge. There are window a/c in the classrooms but the halls and rest rooms are not cooled and some of the window unites recycle outdoor air which during extremely hot and humid months is not the best air to recycle.Other Review8mo ago - Beacon Hill Preparatory Academy
