Read what parents are saying about Niles West High SchoolAaliyah Guerrier1 review7 years agoBeing a student here all four years literally was probably the worst experience I have ever had this school honestly only cares if you are bringing something good to their name. A lot of teachers here do not teach they don't care if you pass or fail because they're only in it for the money. I had a physics teacher that I asked so kindly to change because he wasn't doing his job and I've always asked for help but he had no clue what he was doing . Everyone always tried to turn it on me like I wasn't doing anything but previous classes have told me that he was the worst teacher. That wasn't my only incident with a bad teacher. My sophomore English teacher was pretty bad as well he didn't teacher either. This school is also filled with rude people it's a very diverse school but there is groups other races don't really talk to each other like that. In my opinion I would not ever send my child to this school for the simple fact that they would have to teach themselves all four years. And it's always your fault at this school. / Everything what Aaliyah wrote is exactly what my kids experienced.
Posted by a parent on 2/21/2024This school is alright, but Freshman Year is HE-double-hockey-sticks, so watch out 8th graders. luckily, 10th grade is epic.also Boys love to smoke in the boys bathrooms and they are usually dirty. same with it's sibling school Niles North.
Posted by a student on 9/25/2023I would most certainly not recommend this school. The principal is not present, does not respond to emails and lacks genuine compassion and concern for her students. Antwan Babakhani is equally unresponsive and when he is responsive, not very helpful. There is ZERO support for the social and emotional needs of these children. In instances when there have been situations on campuses, the staff reply with cut and paste emails that again, lack any personalization or concern for their students. I am very grateful that my child has graduated from this school and is naturally a self motivating person who was able to excel on her own. For any student who needs a bit of a push, enouragement, or any extra attention from administration - you will not get it at Niles West. But you CAN be sure that they will have time to tweet endlessly and share self praise before they finally get around to your email.
Posted by a parent on 8/10/2022I have two graduates from Niles West. They both continued their education and now have Masters degrees. Both have excellent jobs and School District 219 gets the credit for their preparation for their success.

I have found all of the teachers and staff to be very knowledgeable, effective and nice.Parent Review6y ago - Madison Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school. Love that it's both a neighborhood and magnet school. Great enthusiastic teachers. Involved and responsive principal. Community is lacking racial diversity but teachers work at including materials so students can learn more other's experiences. Love the IB curriculum.Parent Review2y ago - St Paul Lutheran Academy
