The staff at Earl Hanson is extremely dedicated, and is working to do whatever it takes to help students from very diverse backgrounds, and with very diverse needs, learn and become the most productive citizens they can be.

Overall, it hasn't been a good experience. Every year, for the last 26 days of the school year (1 day for every letter of the alphabet), the school allows too much playtime w/ pajama day, show-and-tell day, towel day, hat day, ice cream day, etc.. If just one hour is taken away from each day for such nonsense, that's at least 26 hours wasted on not teaching/learning. This is not even including the normal recess during lunchtime. The leaders/teachers of this school show no urgency for the kids to catch up with their learning.

Thurgood Marshall School has proved to be successful with their continued support and encouragement of their students. The friendly, welcoming, confident and hopeful staff allows their students room to grow in a great environment with outstanding professionalism.

I think this school is awesome. I can only rate it average because I'm applying the rate to all aspects of the school. Students are not meeting the statewide test expectations, but they work hard and learn. I feel welcome, and I feel that my daughters have an awesome teacher that is open to my ideas and is willing to help me create a wonderful educational journey for them. My kids will not be turned off by the awesome staff here. After visiting several other buildings, including high performing ones, I still chose the RI Academy for my children.
