4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a former student from 12 years ago, it seems that homework structure has changed in the sense that some of it is "pre-made". I've seen several with vague instructions along with English errors and I wonder how a student is suppose to interpret them. Another point is that the student to teacher ratio is much larger now. I remember every grade up until 2nd grade were fairly small classes. Also, our current technology should be able to help understand how students are performing in classes and achieve results like those at the top at the nation, yet it seems as though this school is still 15 years behind. The school does have a good community reach and the kindergarten class is outstanding. In general terms though, the school should be doing much better in terms of math, cognitive thinking, and creativity; all of which help as the backbone of understanding complicated tasks done in high school, university, business, engineering, and everywhere else in everyday life. Overall: Good: Friendly staff, great community, and decent curriculum.Bad: Far behind in education and resources that is expected of an elementary school around the nation. Grades 1-3 lacking behind.-Note all the above is broad due to limited space and one should thoroughly research schools before making a decision and assist their child in achieving their success and transitioning into our society.Parent Review10y ago4 Reviews - Thomas Jefferson Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall, it hasn't been a good experience. Every year, for the last 26 days of the school year (1 day for every letter of the alphabet), the school allows too much playtime w/ pajama day, show-and-tell day, towel day, hat day, ice cream day, etc.. If just one hour is taken away from each day for such nonsense, that's at least 26 hours wasted on not teaching/learning. This is not even including the normal recess during lunchtime. The leaders/teachers of this school show no urgency for the kids to catch up with their learning.Parent Review6y ago2 Reviews - Thurgood Marshall Learning Center

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEh its ok. Its also highly populated with out of district kids. The school counselor acts as if her personal paycheck is being effected if your child is sick an missed whatever certain amount of days theyre allowed in a year. Not even joking. We have also had issues with bullying, although they have taken it seriously each time, I feel like if they focused more on the out of district kids and putting them back in their district maybe bullying wouldnt be such a problem at this school and that might also positively effect the excessive abscenses as well. As someone who attended hamilton as a child, hamilton def isnt what it used to be.Parent Review1y ago7 Reviews - Lincoln-Irving Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy 2 cousins when there. From day 1, my cousin's where harassed. It took 3-4 weeks to get everything straightened out with the principal, students, teachers and my cousin's all do to calling seriously bad names and racism. Oldest cousin that when there was Autistic. Anyways my cousin's don't attend this school anymore and the school secretary says I have to be locked into this school until a notice of the kids attend another school. I'm responsible for tuition, broken laptops, and I'm not there mother. The secretary thinks she's a boss there, so she makes all decisions.Parent Review2y ago5 Reviews
