My daughter was bullied multiple times and nothing was done about it at one point she was bullied on the playground. A little boy pushed her down and got on top of her and was punching her and the school did nothing. The playground attendant was not watching. They were on their phones when this happened and they were too far away to even see it happening and with the playground being close to a road you think that they would not be able to be on their phones, but they are my daughter has told me that every day They went out to the playground the tenants were on their phone.It was supposed to be put in special school district because they wanted to test her for dyslexia never did they’re not good with communicatingAt one point, I was hospitalized after I had a miscarriage and they put her down as a unexcused absence why I was in the hospital after they told me that it would be an excused absence because my family members lived in St. Louis. No one was able to drive all the way down to take her to school. The front desk lady is very rude. She will have an attitude with you on the phone. I try to talk to the principal about it. He does not care and the school does not care about bowling either. If you let your child go to the school they will get bullied in the school will not do anything about it. My daughter was scared to go to school because of it and anytime she tried to tell her teacher when she was being bullied, her teacher would tell her that she was acting like a second grader in training. At that point, my daughter was too scared to even tell her teacher. Also when I came to her Teacher about the bullying and about the boy getting on top of her, she told me that my daughter does not have the right to fight back. The principal always says he’s gonna call you back and he does not. You have to call the office multiple times just to get a hold of him and even when you get a hold of him, he does not care. He shrugs it off like it’s not that big of a deal. My daughter has always loved school and when she started up at the school, she has cried every single morning about not wanting to go to school because she was being bullied that bad they like to put the fifth graders with the first graders sometimes at recess in the fifth graders would pick on the first graders And again the teacher did nothing

With the exception of my older son’s teacher, I’d give it a terrible rating. A brief PE/Music class once a week and no other specials. Library is run by parents. Art is done once a month by parents. Neither of my boys ever saw a computer while there. My child’s 504 was ignored, my kids struggled to meet people because of a lack of social time or even group work, they literally did work sheets all day long, Kids who are advanced are held back in their learning, and everything was so tedious to them.

The thing that my son noticed first about this schools is that everyone was kind. He was amazed that bullying gets shut down on the spot and because of the low teacher/student ratio it is always noticed. From an educational perspective, my son is thriving at Evans. The teachers here really pay attention to individual students needs.

There's like mold developing here and the teachers never really did anything about bullies.

Secure school, plenty of events to keep kids engaged, bus drivers are great, before and after care are good as well. Teachers are communicative and genuinely care for kids. School has a walking trail and play ground kids love on the weekend. The neighborhood around school is pretty awesome — which makes trick or treating and Christmas Light observations fun!

While the public schools may leave no child behind, they don't seem to be worrying about making sure the smart kids get ahead either. My child was "stuck" in the public schools for 2 years before I found NEA - bored and unchallenged. While the local school district used to offer "academically talented" coursework, that is long gone with budget cuts. At NEA, we've found a school that can provide academically talented kids with the challenge they need DAILY! Plus daily Spanish language, Tae Kwon Do for PE class, and a family-oriented atmosphere where parents are truly welcome in the school. We love NEA and highly recommend it to any family looking for a better way to educate their child.

In our experience teachers do not challenge the students. New principal is overbearing and egotistical and difficult to work with! Teaching methods are lackluster and as old as the school itself.
