Monticello High School

When we were house shopping, the school district was a major factor in our decision. We had heard good things about Monticello and have not been let down. The office and administrative staff was supportive in helping get all the paper work taken care of and was always friendly in our interactions. My child needs some extra support in the classroom but not enough for an IEP or 504 plan yet. The administration takes the time to think about which children they place with which teacher in order to ensure the best possible learning environment. My child's kindergarten teacher has been amazing. She knows how to handle her class well, is responsive to our concerns, and had handled the "intervention"/guidance from his pediatric specialist appropriately. My only concern is that the occupational therapist has to be shared between all 3 elementary schools, making it harder for all children who might need her time to get her attention. But there's only so much they can do about that. I'm very glad we landed in Monticello and not at our other choice when house hunting as I've heard quite a few horror stories about the administrative staff in that district refusing to supply proper information to their parents. We love Monticello!

Monticello Christian Academy focuses on so many things important to Christian families: sound education, God, and family. While some schools strive to separate children from their parents, MCA encourages and requires parent participation and vounteer hours. MCA is non-denominational, but they focus on God in every class. They strive to reinforce beliefs and morals in support of family values. Adminstrators, staff, teachers, and parents build good relationships here in support of the goal of providing a great education and raising the children with Christian values. My child flourishes at MCA, and we do not ever regret our decision or the finances and volunteer time necessary to send our child to MCA.
