This is a great school i was there for 3 years and they were awesome every one of the teachers were super duper nice but sometimes they were strict but that was because they care about our grades and because they want us to be great in the future... Posted by a community member on 2/15/2013This school is terrible, you can see it even from the outside. My nephew went there for 4th grade last year and had a horrible experience. It has gang problems and is very overcrowded. Don't waste your time, it was once a good school but now it is really bad.

Staff is quick to tel Lyon not what to do instead of greeting and finding out if someone needs assistance. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt. Nick's school has provided a wonderful learning environment for my 4 children and I highly recommend this school to anyone seeking a private Catholic education. St. Nick's provides a lot of assistance to students that need a little more encouragement and/or help in and outside of the classroom. The addition of teacher aides help provide individual one on one time to ensure no student is left behind. The title I teachers are amazing! My son especially loves Mrs. Baran; she has helped him grow in reading/math and continues to support him due to covid setbacks. The technology program has really grown over the years and is established into all classrooms with chromebooks, iPads, smartboards, etc. The school feels like an large extended family, parents get to know one another through volunteer, parent meetings, sporting events, etc. even though there are no requirements placed on us. I help when we can and if I can't, that's been okay too. St. Nick's is not in it for the tuition, they have helped me personally when needed. The staff are all amazing and the teachers have timely communication through ClassDoJo app so you're never left out on homework, upcoming events, or private matters involving your child. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAcademically strong. There are other aspects of the school that could use improvement . There is high teacher turnover. The school has a no-holiday policy which really doesn't honor anyone. I’m talking no Valentines’s cards allowed , it’s almost ridiculous.
