I completed a student observation for graduate school at Arthur Dixon. I absolutely loved the atmosphere, staff, admin, and the support that students were provided to enrich their overall educational experience. The African artwork, history, and culture is beautiful.

I have personally observed the principal, Mrs. McCarthy yelling at students about attendance as soon as they enter the doors din the morning. School staff have refused to assist and support a homeless family by denying the children, school supplies, new uniforms, and transportation assistance. They have violated a parent's right to have support available and isolated that parent while communicating with them. They have implemented an attendance incentive program that is unjust for all the students. The school staff is very concerned about attendance but do nothing to support students being able to attend everyday while students are performing very low academically.

The school needs a lot of changes starting with leadership. All the way to the president of the PAC. The PAC needs someone who will represent the interest of ALL parents and students and not the interest of the principal.

As a former student I’ve been at this school my entire life, I’ve seen the highs and lows. The teachers are great yeah you’ll get bored but they manage to make it fun, they manage with little support, they try their hardest and never gave up on us and that’s what matters. Even if there were fights they were quickly resolved, the staff and parents stepped in when in need. They once provided ice pops for the entire school on an extremely hot summer day.i genuinely love this school and hope that my next school is just as supportive and innovative as possible.

Lenart is an exceptional PK—8 school that consistently provides a high-quality education to its students. The school’s use of technology in the classroom is a strength, helping kids start learning these tools early.Lenart’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity is commendable, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all students. The school’s strong sense of community is evident in its numerous events and activities that bring students, parents, and staff together.I highly recommend this school to any parent seeking a quality education for their child and to get set up for high school success.
