Queen Of The Universe School

This is a neighborhood school that is closer to my home and within walking distance for my children. My children were remote learners due to the 2019 pandemic and were enrolled in a Charter school originally. I felt that they would benefit more at a neighborhood school and learn in person. Since the beginning of the 2021 school year my son was experiencing racially based bullying. He was physically assaulted on multiple occasions by the Hispanics students. He is in the 2nd grade and has an older sister in the 6th grade. I repeatedly informed the staff, teachers and principle of his bullying and being called the "N" word. The school vehemently denied the bullying happening to my son and labeled him a "bad kid" for defending himself. Due to the biased environment at this school my children are in the process of transferring. English is the 2nd language and Spanish is the first language. There is not enough student diversity at Eberhart and only 3% population of African American Students. It is really a shame that two minority demographics cannot respectfully co-exist at Eberhart. I've spoken to other black parents and their children about the racism and prejudice upheld at Eberhart and they too have expressed extreme concern. We have lived on 64th and Kedzie for over 10 years and the neighborhood was very welcoming to blacks but now it is being predominately housed with Hispanics. The cultural shift of the neighborhood directly affects the culture of the neighborhood school Eberhart negatively. The racial tension and language barrier continue to exist due to the lack of the older generation teaching the younger generations kindness, respect and love for all regardless of race and ethnicity. I thought my children would benefit from the experience and the cultural difference Eberhart Elementary School has to offer. Yet instead, we were consistently reminded of the blatant racism that we as blacks face in this world every day. Eberhart Elementary School is no safe haven for black students or black parents!

Graduated from this school and it was the worse time of my life. I was getting bullied everyday and was even choked and threatened infront of an entire class, no one reported it or did anything, only one person helped who was my friend. The teachers are not the best at teaching their subject and are rude to students as well. My friends from this school were also bullied, and made uncomfortable by students and teachers. I once reported being bullied and cried to the counselor about what she did and the things she made me do, I was reported and she didn't receive any type of punishment. Only a few teachers were kind but very few, most picked their favorite students and let them pass. I have been doing better in highschool, which this school did not prepare me or any other students for. The counselor also did not help families with first-born children how to apply for different highschools, she also ignored bullying. Would not recommend ever

My son has been a student at Marquette for 2 years, and I have nothing but great things to say about the school! The teachers truly care about the students and what’s best for them. Admin is very supportive as well!

The school's performance has been extremely concerning. My child was neglected, denied water, and not provided with any meaningful education. I have documented evidence of these incidents on a device I sent to the school. Even during a season when hydration is crucial, my child was not given water. Moreover, the teachers ignored my child and, in some cases, used force to teach him. These experiences caused significant emotional distress for my son. It's disappointing to think about how many other children, especially those from minority backgrounds, might have been negatively affected by this school's inadequate service. As a result, I decided to withdraw my son from this school. They refuse to mark. Him as homeschooling. Thus creating a "cps" situation I'M sure they are itching to achieve. Let this be known he's been in home school for 3 years. It's my choice. The system is BROKEN. Do not recommend. You take a chance.

Mi hijo estuvo en Prek en un grupo individualizado por las discapacidades que el tiene, en general todos los maestros fueron muy amables y respetuosos con el, tratan siempre de unificarlos y que se sientan incluidos en el aula, las aulas son extremadamente bonitas los materiales de aprendizaje son perfectos para ellos que les ayudan a aprender a su manera y tiempo. La case manager se preocupa por ellos y su seguridad y esta al pendiente de cada uno de sus alumnos se toma el tiempo para atenderte y responder tus inquietudes y poder hacer una cita si es necesario. La seguridad de la escuela es impresionante todo esta muy controlado y los niños están seguros, las instalaciones las han mejorado mucho y siempre están limpias. La motivación para integrar a la familia me encanto existen diferentes actividades donde puedes participar, cursos de ingles, café y poesía, manualidades ect.Lastima que tuve que mudarme pero realmente extraño mucho a Stevenson.

This was a terrible school. I just left that school a month ago and I got bullied for over three years and the school didn’t do anything. The principal didn’t know what to do, there broke, and it’s just terrible.
