Read what parents are saying about Kelvyn Park High SchoolHello parents and students of cps and all other places that are inquireing about kelvyn park high school. This school has been through a lot in the last few years. But is now advancing in so many areas. It has taken many years to be where we are so now as a team we will move this school foward and lift it up. I believe it has a beautiful vintage look i love it.The teachers are amazing and work very hard to help our students be successful. The new principles are truly amazing and have done great achieving projects that to me and many others have reach goals. Many great things are happening in Kelvyn Park High School im happy to be a proud parent of students at kelvyn park We just have to work hard with the staff and principles and we can be one of the best schools!
Posted by a parent on 5/22/2013this is a decent school but needs a new building!the current one is falling apart and outdated!the gym can get hard subbing at times but being at kp is a nice experience!
Posted by a teacher on 1/18/2013I am a 1975 Grad. My Grandmother, Mother, Aunt and Brothers are all Grads. People and neighborhoods change. I visited the school with my wife some 7 years ago. The "kids" were OK quite busy! We thought that there was too much technology and not enough learning going on. The principal at the time was FANTASTIC. The school looked beautiful. I would love to go back and compare. WAY TO GO PANTHERS !!!
Posted by a parent on 9/21/2012I graduated in 01. And the bad reviews I've read so far are pretty much true. Too many bad students, particularly the one's in gangs. On my first day of school I've seen two fights. The teacher's. Were OK. Its just how the school is run, which is poorly.
Posted by a community member on 5/30/2011Before going to Kelvyn Park, i heard that it was horrible! Fights everyday, nobody there cares. i attended there as a freshmen today i'm a junior, a really invovled succesful junior. People and Students say this school is poorly runned and not good. the truth is there just cintributing to what they're saying. if they really wanted to see KP a GOOD SCHOOL. then we all should stand up and do somthing about it. I' am really glad i attended Kelvyn Park.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThree stars based on the negative attitudes of the parents. Strict teachers? Horrible Principle? Too much homework? Maybe not enough homework, and not strict enough? I saw the percentages of absentees for one and saw the majority of the ones absent. Hmm, but they do nothing wrong. Just ask them when they get in trouble on the street.I went to that school in the late 50's early 60's. To hear what you people are saying is disgraceful! Parents start doing your parental jobs and straighten those kids out. Yep! Get strict. I feel sorry for the few kids and their parents that really want an education. This could be a great school. I know because as I said it was when I went there. Sad.. very sad. And no! I am not a teacher.Other Review1y ago - Falconer Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to Falconer for first through sixth grade (2006-2012) I gotta say, this is one of the best schools I have ever been to. The teachers are very nice and helped me a lot. I had made so many great memories here and would like to come back. The summer after sixth grade I was very depressed because I didn't want to move. I had become so close to everyone, the students, teachers, and even the security guards. :') I LOVE Falconer and I am very happy that my little sister is going there too. I don't regret ever going there and would recommend others to go there too.Other Review9y ago - Lloyd Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended this school pre k through 2nd grade and she is transferring to a new school the upcoming year because this school did not help her. My daughter is at a kindergarten reading level and as much as I try to help her I felt her school wasn't doing enough for her. There are after school programs available but she did not "qualify" for them because she was way under her reading level. Those programs are for students almost meeting there reading level. So they basically forget about the rest. Every child should be entitled to extra help if needed. I hope my daughter recieve a better education a her new school.Parent Review8y ago - Monroe Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJames Monroe Elementary School has a great Parent-Mentor Program that assists teachers in the classrooms. This program is beneficial to the children as well because the parents are positive role-models for students during class. The staff, parents and students are a community that works very well together. My daughter loves attending school at Monroe!Parent Review7y ago - Mozart Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is an utter disaster coming from the staff to the principal. Incident after incident that never gets reported. The lack of supervision they provide the children. Bathroom locks don’t work. You bring up an issue to the principal, she nods and spaces out.. There’s a lot of bullying that is not being taken care of properly. A lot of safety incidents that go unreported, parents are not being notified when they should. I took it upon myself to transfer my honor roll students out of this so called “school.” I would highly recommend to find a school that cares for the students mental health and well being a priority.Parent Review1y ago - Scammon Elementary School
