Read what parents are saying about Scammon Elementary SchoolSo far we are very happy with the school. We have only been here for a month and everyone has been so helpful and kind. We really enjoyed the Christmas program today.

Posted by a parent on 10/13/2015This school is the Best because it has all the needs that a student needs to h ve. We have iPads , chrome books, computers, and more. The teachers are super helpful and respectful to all students. Kids will change their grades up to an A before you know it. People sometimes make up stuff so that they can make us look bad, but if you want to see for yourself then come to scammon school and start education here. I am a student from scammon elementary and I learned a lot. I even learned English at this school. I became everyone's friend and a kind and also responsible girl. Scammon is a school that teacher you how to be respectful, responsible, and ready to succeed in school and in life.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThree stars based on the negative attitudes of the parents. Strict teachers? Horrible Principle? Too much homework? Maybe not enough homework, and not strict enough? I saw the percentages of absentees for one and saw the majority of the ones absent. Hmm, but they do nothing wrong. Just ask them when they get in trouble on the street.I went to that school in the late 50's early 60's. To hear what you people are saying is disgraceful! Parents start doing your parental jobs and straighten those kids out. Yep! Get strict. I feel sorry for the few kids and their parents that really want an education. This could be a great school. I know because as I said it was when I went there. Sad.. very sad. And no! I am not a teacher.Other Review1y ago - Falconer Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is all about the students. Ms. Irizarry will put anything in the line to do what it's best for the children. Most of the staff is very approachable and knowledgeable. Every school should be like this first and then we focus on the performance, which by the way, have been constantly improving for the last 5 years...Other Review8y ago - Disney Ii Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHave absolutely loved Disney 2 for both my children! We have found the teachers and administration to be highly invested in each child's different needs. We love the communication, which is weekly from each classroom, but also includes administrators and more one-to-one information. Everyone seems very engaged and attentive in making sure our children are learning AND encouraging learning to be fun. We also love the parent involvement at D2. There are so many great opportunities and it’s just such a warm and welcoming environment. Great community. Great focus on personalized learning. Great communication.Parent Review6mo ago - Garcia Lorca Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExcellent my child loves this school, great caring, patient, and excited teachers. They have great after school programs. I’m grateful this school and the staff has made my child love coming to school everyday, I will have to suggest one thing, security needs to be more strict on who enters the school they monitor who’s buzzing the doorbell but they never ask why or for what matter before opening the door. I do wish they had more security and better trained security. Specially when school is starting and during dismissal. Please take this comment into consideration.Parent Review5y ago - Gateway Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe enrolled our son at Gateway as soon as he was old enough to attend (15 months), in the Community classroom. As he has progressed into Children's House (ages 3-6), it has been a joy to watch him develop across all of the elements that made a true Montessori environment so critical for us: practical life, grace and courtesy, and the hand-to-mind tactile connection that is made through the combination of classroom materials and the careful individual preparation and observation of his guides. The facility is modern and exceptionally welcoming and cared for. Leadership is responsive and caring. As for the classroom guides and aides: words can't describe the immense effort and love they put into their work with the children. As one of only two-AMI accredited Montessori schools in Chicago, we lucked out that this absolute gem happens to be within a mile of our home.Parent Review2mo ago - St Hyacinth Basilica School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had 3 generations graduate from St. Bartholomew. St. Bart's continues to grow and exceed in faith, education, and character. Being on the PPC I have the opportunity to hear and see firsthand how the school is improving each and every year. The commitment that you make as a parent to give your child the best start in life will pay off tenfold when you send your child/children here. Yes, it is a sacrifice financially (plenty of scholarships available) but it is worth it when you give your child the best.Other Review2y ago
