Posted by a student on 7/20/2023We just finished our first year (Kindergarten) as a Tubman family. Our kiddo loved it - excited to learn and play with friends, and stayed engaged all year. Our kindergarten teachers are awesome, as is the Tubman community!

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI regret having my child attend this high school. The only reason I kept him in it was because he made actual friends for the first time. Communication here from parent to staff is non existent. I'm still waiting on replied to my emails from 2024. I've emailed principal Grace Moody multiple times with no response. Same thing with counselor. Children have been assaulted here with chair thrown at head and no one contacted parents. This happened multiple times until a parent spoke up with a possible law suit. The decline begins in 5th grade. It is no surprise that there are multiple pieces of negative feedback that are echoed. OLMCA provided our children with many opportunities to participate in extra curricular activities such as sports, science olympiad, choir and the middle school musical in addition to preparing them well for high school. We have great memories from family events like the Cultural Fair, Trivia Night, Valentine's Dance, Trunk or Treat...and more.As parents, we decided to raise our children in the city. For them, we wanted a small school with great staff, welcoming community, academic strength and a nurturing environment.
