Lovejoy Elementary School

My school is not the worst, but overall the students deserve better. The leadership is inconsistent with their own core values, the learning climate is poor. As far as these high learning expectations, I'm still waiting to see some results. The communication, to be honest, with this particular teacher, is slightly better than horrible last school year. Most of the staff that I've interacted with are unprofessional. Parent don't feel welcome, as if they have something to hide. I've read through their student and teach handbook twice, and no-one took accountability for not following procedure my son. Like I said, not the worst, but definitely not as good as it seems.

I have two daughters at this school and they both love it

People would fight everyday and there was no actual peace. In my opinion when Mrs. Sams was the principal it was a bit more orderly. I had to stand my own to be accepted and survive. Other than that I loved the school.

this will be my sons first year at Ames and Im hoping its better than their last St. Louis City school experience

My son teacher hit him with a broom stick an left an marks on him i ask were he get it and he said that the teacher hit him as soon as he said that i went right up to the school the principle said that she was trying to scare him so he can learn and pay attention in class but beating a child to make him learn was not right i did not give anyone permission to lay there hand on my 6 year old son and i took him out as soon as I could the school is ok but hitting and leaving marks on children to make them learn does not work im a teacher myself i believe that we can guide a child to learn but we can't force it a child should succeed on their own no one should force a child by being force to learn the more they won't succeed because a child learn from their mistake an forcing them they will be scared to make the wrong move please i don't won't any other child ending up like mine, its a good school. Having kids working off their level by beating them and forcing them to learn is not a good system i would not want my child in.
