We enjoyed our time at Douglas elementary! These school ratings are so ridiculous some times. Staff and academics are amazing. Highly recommend !

I could not recommend this school if I didn't absolutely love the way they treat their student body and the lengths they go through to teach amazing lessons, treat every student as their own, and make every accommodation possible! Posted by a parent on 2/17/2016The teachers are excellent. My girls have transferred from a school that was suppose to be the"best" in St. Clair County to Douglas and I can say Douglas is by far better than the supposed "best" school.

The elementary school also has a number of wonderful social events such as camping, pancake breakfasts, steam nights that allow the kids to socialize and learn. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI appreciate the time my child has spent in this school. The teachers and staff have been wonderful and available for consultation from me as a parent. They seem to genuinely care about the kids. The principal is active and well known. I have seen him many times interacting with the teachers and children and not only back in an office. There are plenty of (pre-covid) activities that are well planned to bring the community together. I feel my family is respected and my child is getting a great education. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our 2nd year at GFA. Our daughter went to a nature school previously and was homeschooled before that so I was nervous about her going into a traditional learning environment. She loves GFA. She loves her teacher and she gets to do STEAM class with upper school kids which she loves. She likes music class. I love the morning convocation the school does. The kids get recognized for their accomplishments and parents can join. The only negative is they are a small school so a bit limited on special education services. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe feel very lucky to be a part of Zion School. They make you feel like family. I feel good about sending my kids to school every day. I know they are truly cared for and even loved by the teachers. They know my kids by name, and they pay close attention to the kid's needs.
