Herbert Hoover Elementary School

My kids loved this school! All of the teachers we had were absolutely amazing! The low scores that the school gets is mostly because of the high turnover of the students (such is the area, with a lot of apartments), but if your student stays through the entire school year, they will progress! This school has so many programs to help kids learn, and my kids greatly benefited from them!

Lemme is not just a school. It is a school family. When people ask where my kids go to school, they always say something about it being a positive place & know we're the leopards. Lemme is a community.

This school says one thing but does another. I was told that I could pick up my child earlier than the 14:55 out time because he was having a rough time leaving school. Then, I was told after a couple of weeks after that that my child's attendance was an issue. This school is BIG on bullying parents and they want so badly to yank your children from your homes.

It is important to understand that Twain's low rating is most likely based on test scores alone. Test scores can be misleading. Twain has a diverse student body, and a wonderful, supporting atmosphere. It is a striving and thriving community, and if you are looking for a school for your child where every teacher will do their best to help your kid as an individual and make sure they perform to the best of their ability, then go to Twain. Go Tigers! (Twain also won "Best Float" at last year's City High Homecoming Parade - because we have students, teachers, and parents that care and support their school wholeheartedly!)

When I enter Regina Elementary, I know that my children are in a safe and caring environment. The teachers are wonderful and show compassion and empathy, as they cater to the individual needs of all their students. When I walk through the halls, I love seeing the active learning that happens on a daily basis within the classrooms. I also appreciate the monthly masses, prayer services, and service projects that help build upon a strong Catholic foundation.

Regina is an excellent example of educating the whole child. The school centers on strong community which leads to engaged teachers, students and families. The foundation of serving others builds character and provides motivation for students. The teachers are extremely organized and experts in their field. There are high academic and behavior expectations for students which sets them up for future success. We can’t say enough about how connected we feel to our children’s education in all areas- academic, social, spiritual, athletic.

Willowwind has far surpassed our expectations for our child's education experience. We absolutely love the kindness and compassion play such a big part in our child's school day. The community is their classroom with frequent field trips. The teachers and administration make each family feel like a part of something special. Our child looks forward to everyday at Willowwind and so do we.
