Read what parents are saying about King Kekaulike High SchoolEveryone has a choice on if they want to succeed or not. Choice is the students to make, what plays a big part is the parents: what do you do to help your child succeed? Do you help them with their homework? Do you know who your child hangs out with? Do you know what your child does when you are not around? You had a choice to have a child, now do what you can to make your child succeed. Don't blame it on a teacher if your child doesn't want to learn. We put so much on Teacher's to make our child succeed but remember they have 180+ students. Could you make all the students succeed? Don't get me wrong there are some really good teachers that care about the students and school, but there are those who are there for the paycheck. The school offers a wide selection of electives and has one of the best senior project assignments in the state. The school has had many become doctors, scientists, journalist, architects, engineers, and successful businessman. This is a diverse school, and you have the choice to succeed.
Posted by a parent on 3/27/2016At King Kekaulike High School, students are given the choice to be successful. There are such courses offered, special education, regular education, honors, and AP. Each division of courses/education has its own unique responsibility. Each student shall have the right to prosper. They shall also expect an adequate amount of responsibility themselves. To help us students, proper tools/guidance are given by the faculty that we must uphold. To become a better school we the students, faculty, and community need to get more involved with an optimistic attitude. It can be done! Conclusively, it is a CHOICE. So do we step up to the plate or do we settle for less? This is a true connection to the rating of the school. Meaning that we are settling for something less then giving our absolute best. We need to think positively people! It is up to you; if you chose; if you will.

Posted by a teacher on 10/17/2012Just awful, i hope this school gets shut down. The kids here are honestly are not the Grade A students that all parents wish for, but this school continues to keep sky high standards and does nothing to aid the students with the academic help they need to make it which is also high the drop out rate is high, and the scores are so low. Honestly stop being such a try hard.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageReally great school! My kids love the teachers. You can tell the teachers really care. My daughter loved Ms. Brask and my son adored Ms. Zickuhr. All the teachers are helpful and concerned. They could give more homework to challenge is my only concern.Other Review7y ago - Carden Academy of Maui

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are beyond impressed with the kind loving and nurting enviornment of both the staff and students. The school is rigurous, they challenge the students to strive while making learning fun and each student has their own plan to succeed based on needs and capablities. There is PE four days a week which its only once a week at many schools. She is learning a foreign language, has gardening and her art teacher is super creative. They have music, family nights, monthly virtue assemblies, classrooms are quint, cozy, inviting and each room has AC on the hot days. Her teacher spends every lunch reading a book to the students. The principal greats each child in the morning and helps them out of the car. I could go on and on but not enough room. As wonderful as I thought the school could be they have far exceed any expectation and we are truly fortunate to have our daughter have this opportunity.Parent Review5y ago - Montessori School of Maui
