In comparison to ther other elementary schools nearby, I had an overall decent learning experience.

Horrible combination and lack of engagement with parents

Redan ES is one of the worst schools in DeKalb County due to Principal Blakely. The teachers are doing their best with the lack of support and resources. The AP refuses to discipline unruly students, and the school's culture is deplorable. Let's talk about the raoches flying around and the lack of safety with the side gate always available for anyone to walk in. The school needs to replace the administration and clean up.

Great school.They care about the overall world being of the child and their education. The fact that is mandatory uniform only black and white shoes.

I do not recommend this school based on our experience. There has been very little homework sent home throughout the year, making it difficult for parents to stay involved in their child’s learning. Everything my child knows has been taught at home rather than reinforced through school instruction.There also seems to be a strong focus on MAP testing, but not enough consistent instruction or preparation leading up to it. It often feels like preparation is left until the last minute rather than being built into regular learning throughout the year.Parent involvement and communication from the school have also been very limited. As a parent, I do not feel adequately informed or included in my child’s academic progress.That said, there are a few staff members who are kind and helpful, including the assistant principal and some front office staff.Overall, I believe the school needs significant improvement in communication, academic consistency, and parent engagement.

I had the worst experience with the school within the first week. They only care about money and nothing else (well not my child). THE VERY FIRST DAY THEY PUT MY CHILD ALL THE WAY IN THE BACK BY HIMSELF WHEN IT WAS NAP TIME. I have tears in my eyes right now remembering how scared he looked when I walked in. Then the lady that was supposed to be watching ALL OF THEM was all the way in the front and couldn’t see my child then she is gonna tell me I shouldn’t feel a way about it it’s nap time and he was napping. My child is autistic, this is first time in a school environment so he’s not used to going down for a nap at a specific time. However he was just laying on his cot with his blanket and NOT BEING DISRUPTIVE. I CRIED !! The next day I could tell they didn’t wanna bother with him cause I was upset the day before so they just placed him at a table with a toy. My baby got sick and didn’t go in for two weeks and not even a text or call to ask if he’s ok. This school SUCKED FOR ME AND MY SWEET BOY. Wish I could give them 0stars
