Read what parents are saying about South Columbia Elementary SchoolBy far, this is the worst School you may find in the country, be careful when sending your kid there. All of what Pre-k teacher do is dancing, So your kid will learn nothing. My daughters told me she loved to dance with her teacher, but when I ask her to count up to 10, she couldn't. The teacher will tell you how much she work hard with the students and she will give you always good rating for your kid, but they will do nothing. They like to send kids homes early, they liked to send them for any reason including seasonal allergies. You also need to be careful when complaining about teachers, since this will convert to be a form of personal issue. They will find away to attack-back. I never expected this, but that happened, the problem is that they will form an ally and find a way to attack back. Stay away, your pre-k kid will learn nothing, my daughters has a lot of behavioral issues because of the way she was treated
Posted by a parent on 6/22/2023As a parent and as a prospective elementary teacher, I felt utterly disgusted by this school. Every time I entered the school with my kindergartner I felt unwanted and unwelcome by administrators teachers and faculty. I had no communication with the teacher; had to call a conference at week 9 to have the first conversation with the teacher other than on the day of open house. I was told that I was not allowed in my child's classroom to observe, to participate or to volunteer my time. It is absurd to tell a parent that wants to be involved that they are not welcome to. I would not recommend this school to anyone, and I will never put my kids back into this school.

I guess they cater to the parents that need a day care and do not want to watch their own childrenOther Review3mo ago - Blue Ridge Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMoved new to the area last year and my daughter started at Steven's Creek. Coming from out of state from a nice newly built school with modern classrooms, I was disappointed by the building my child would spend her days. The first few months of school work came back with failing marks and then passing marks and then failing marks again. She dragged going to school in the morning. I about lost my mind trying to pinpoint if it was the school culture, the teacher, or just the out of state move, and then I received a note she tested into the gifted enrichment progm called Horizons. She agreed to give it a try, and now adores this school and asks to get dropped off early. The teachers were professionals in evaluating what was going on and changed the instruction so she is now motivated to learn and is learning a lot. Steven's Creek also has a lot of parents (and grandparents) who volunteer their time when asked and donate materials for classroom activities and projects.Parent Review4mo ago - Academics Plus

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageClass materials are engaging, thought-provoking, and age- appropriate. Academics Plus does not gear educational instruction towards any religious or political affiliation. Students will experience the best learning environment to further develope their critical thinking skills without being swayed to think one way or another. Academics Plus truly is the best hands down to prepare your little one for middle and high school as well as college. This school is truly the best way to give your child the best start.Other Review5y ago - Augusta First Seventh Day Adventist School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAP is a school where teachers are empowered to create engaging lessons that lead students to think through things on their own rather than being told what to think. Administration is really responsive to questions and issues. As a parent, I know that teachers and staff know my child and I am able to reach out to any of them and they will respond thoughtfully. Love that the school is prek-12 so there is continuity - no need to switch schools as children age up. It is a challenging school where kids aren't pushed to succeed academically - they actively seek to do it themselves and there is such a wide variety of activities, teams, clubs, and classes to support any interest. Kids interested in STEAM will be excited by the theater, ceramics, 2D art, Robotics, Coding, and engineering classes offered and a new one of a kind STEM building to support all those interests and more. We've been at Prep for 4 years and are continually impressed by the efforts of students, teachers and admin to make this such a great school, not just academically, but socially. A comprehensive anti-bullying program is used starting in the lower school and creates a culture of inclusivity and tolerance for diversity.Parent Review3mo ago
