Taylor Elementary School

The white front desk lady with blonde hair is not professional at all. She always has an attitude when you walk in. I put my ID in to check my child out and she didn’t even allow us in the door, didn’t ask if we wanted to come in. When i tried to come in and open the door, she gave me a terrible attitude, she does not need to be working the front desk, AT ALL. I will eventually say something and speak with her boss because it’s ridiculous people can’t even be fake professional and want to try and give you a hard time.

Many of the ongoing problems at this school appear to come from a lack of strong leadership. Teachers receive very limited guidance beyond daily lesson requirements. There is little meaningful support for teachers, which has led to high staff turnover. As a result, consistency for students is affected. Several other elementary schools are located nearby, and they report higher teacher retention, stronger student satisfaction, and better academic performance. Families may want to carefully compare all local options before enrolling.

Parents should know that strong, stable leadership matters. During my time at Woodward Mill Elementary, I observed exceptionally high staff turnover, which made it difficult to maintain consistency for students and support long-term academic growth. Many talented teachers and specialized staff left, and that kind of instability inevitably affects a school's culture and students' educational experience. In my opinion, Principal Sonia Brown placed a much greater emphasis on the appearance of the school than on instructional leadership, teacher support, and evidence-based educational practices. The building looked beautiful, but effective schools are built on strong leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to teaching and learning.Woodward Mill has dedicated teachers who care deeply about students, and they deserve leadership that values their expertise and fosters an environment where educators want to stay. I hope the district's new leadership under Superintendent Dr. Alexandra Estrella prioritizes accountability, staff retention, and academic excellence so the school can reach its full potential.

We as parents and our 3 kids love this school! Love every teacher, front desk as well as the assistant principal and Dr. Pugh is awesome! The only thing I wish would get better is the school lunch

My husband and I have had our 3 year old son at HCS since he was 10 weeks old. In each class, he has had teachers who truly care about him, his growth and understanding of the school curriculum. We love that it is a faith based school that directs children to learn Biblical principles. HCS is affordable and provides healthy meals and snacks for our son. We feel that HCS is an incredibly special school and are so glad our son attends daily.

GOC is an amazing school. Teachers are so helpful and kind. Kids actually want to do study with interest. School activities are so fun. As a parent, I’ve seen many schools—but this one stands out.”“This is not just a school. It’s a launchpad for future thinkers.”This school doesn’t just educate—it elevates.A place where futures are quietly, powerfully shaped.Students greet each other with ease, teachers linger in doorways to chat. There’s a culture of mutual respect—where learning is collaborative, not competitive. The faculty here are more than educators—they’re mentors. Ms. Campbell running student leadership with strongly and genuine enthusiasm. Principal Dr. Ray leads with a rare blend of vision and empathy, often seen walking the halls, greeting students by name, and attending student performances with genuine enthusiasm. Seniors mentoring younger students in peer-led workshops. There’s a visible sense of pride in their work, and a quiet confidence in how they speak about their ideas. In a landscape of educational choices, GOC stands out for its intentional design, academic rigor, and emotionally intelligent leadership. It’s not just preparing students for college—it’s preparing them to lead, create, and thrive.GOC is everything education should be.
