Read what parents are saying about Duluth Adventist Christian SchoolI was reading some of the previous reviews left by other parents and students. Some things I agreed with and some I disagreed. My child has been at DACS for 6 years now and I've seen a lot of changes that are positive. The school is not perfect, but what school is? My child is pretty good academically and has never struggled in school. But I know she has friends that do and the teachers are always looking for ways to support the kids. Some teachers even meet with kids after school to teacher them. I choose Christian education because I want my child to be surrounded by people who have the same worldview, who believed the way I believe. No child is perfect so I know my kid has heard kids teasing each other or trying to bully or flirting. But they would get that times 10 in public school. Overall my experience has been a positive one and I keep the school the teachers the principal and all families in prayer. If you are looking for a good Christian School in Duluth, choose this one!
Posted by a parent on 9/19/2023This is my last year at DACS!! And I'll admit coming to this school for 8 years was like riding a roller coaster. Honestly I wouldn't say this is a bad school but I wouldn't like to attend it again if i could. There are pros and there are cons.. When i first came to this school, I needed help on my English and this school made me improve on that and i will always appreciate DACS for it. Yes, this school is a little different, smaller, and more mixed of different races, which is actually a good thing. It made me get closer even though we might have different eyes, skin, hair, etc. If I'm being honestly this school reviews are getting horrible and its not that the school is bad. The school is Christian friendly in so many ways. I've learn so many bible stories that was taught during bible class and i was able to share them to my dad last night while we were having a family devotion. It's more the students who attends here, students here are very sexist and racist. They leave mean joke comment on other cultures, skin, and the way they look. Many students likes to gossip, make rumors, cause drama to other students. The way students are acting is not the school nor the teachers/ principal responsibility. Parents/guardian of a students should have done a better job raising their kids. Also, students here mistakenly chooses the wrong people/friends to hangout with. I feel that teacher could have done a little better if they gave all their attention to the students her at DACS. Teachers are taking it more seriously now but before when we, students try reporting to the elders they always let us wait or say "they are going to do something about it," but they never did fulfill there words. Ever since I was 7 in 1st grade I always wanted to move school because i always felt left out and I was blaming it all on the school but now that I am 14 in 8th grade, I soon understand that DACS wasn't as bad as I always thought. This is a great school and I am not ready to leave this school because i grew up here with everyone I knew.
Posted by a student on 3/6/2023this school is so bad. they allow racism and sexism here and they do nothing about it. the male students at this school are always talking about the girls’ bodies, even as low as 4th and 5th grade. they vape and share alcohol. the girls’ toilets are clogged all the time and one of the 2nd graders were sick because of all of the cleaning products mixed together. a few other girls were sick from the lunch and started throwing up. another thing about this school is it’s so expensive to attend yet theyre so cheap. they promise a trip to the 8th grade students yet they dont let us decide anything and make us pay for the whole thing even though they have more than enough money. the dress code for the girls is horrible and they tell us to cover up so we dont “provoke the guys.” they said we would get in trouble if we even tried to come up with a compromise about the dress code. this school also has extreme double standards. some of my friends reported a racist student and the principal did nothing about it. a group of guys did the hitler salut and mocked the holocaust yet the teachers did nothing about it, even though they saw it. the dress code for the girls is extremely strict but the boys get away with anything they want. worst school ive even been to and i cant wait to leave.
Posted by a student on 1/31/2023This school is not a recommended school, my son was accepted and then 2 days later he was kicked out because he has ADHD and are not equipped to handle kids like him so they kicked him out, they made him feel unsmart and incompetent but in reality it’s the staff that works there. What he got out of that school was trauma, kids bullied him and told the staff it was him bullying them, and did not believe him when he said it wasn’t him. Worst mistake I could have ever made sending him to that school.
Posted by a parent on 9/10/2022DACS is a school where learning is limited and safety is not priority. Leadership is lacking and only a few teachers are competent . Students are poorly supervised and bullying is part of the school culture. If you are looking for school that nurtures mind, body, and spirit keep looking!

They will judge you if they don’t like you as a parent and they will try to get your child taken away from you with false claims and allegations.Other Review3w ago - Charles Brant Chesney Elementary School
