Read what parents are saying about Westside High SchoolAll 3 of my children attend Westside and it is an amazing school. It saddens me to see that the rating is so low because it does not represent what the school is at all. Amazing school, amazing staff, amazing students. It truly feels like one big happy family.
Posted by a parent on 5/13/2023As a parent who was here and then had to move away. We left very sad. When we returned to Augusta area we ended up in Martinez in Col Co schools that have been a nightmare as far as High School. I am actively looking for a different place to live just to get my son back to Westside where he was truly cared about, served and found success. Col Co has nothing to show for their money and a bunch of snot nose stuck up teachers who think they are better than everyone else. Col Co is deemed better than RIchmond Co because so much is swept under the rug by money and not making the news. Richmond Co everything hits the news. Do not naive parents ... problems come in both counties for sure undoubtly but don't go chasing the county chase the school best for your child and their needs. Some of these ratings are so inaccurate as I have experienced both sides of the spectrum. Just keeping it real people and hope you appreciate and you find that school and home best suited for your child. We love Westside, the admin, most of the teachers and Coach Wiley is the bomb!!
Posted by a parent on 3/12/2020My daughter attended this school and graduated in 2015. She was special needs and Miss Tuff was her teacher. The best teacher in the world. From the custodial and cafeteria staff all the way to the administration; they really nurtured my daughter.

Posted by a parent on 6/8/2014Our 4 children have or are at Westside High School . If you apply yourself you will do well, if not the teachers do search out ways to help your child achive their fullest potential. It is small enough that the entire staff know your child and they care or your child like their own! We are very happy with our choice to send our 4 to WHS and yes my children have gone on to 4 year colleges and 2 year colleges and gotten their degree and are productive , Happy, well balanced citizens!

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have a 3rd grader and kindergartener in the school this year and so far we love it. It is a smaller school so everyone becomes like a family. The teachers are very sweet and you can tell they love what they do. We especially love Mrs. Caudill (K), Mrs Pirkle (music), Mrs. Danner (3rd) and Mr. Cardoza (PE). I'm sure I'm leaving off some but these are the teachers that my kids come home talking about every day, excited about what they are learning. Keep up the great work Garrett!Parent Review5mo ago - Lake Forest Hills Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMoved new to the area last year and my daughter started at Steven's Creek. Coming from out of state from a nice newly built school with modern classrooms, I was disappointed by the building my child would spend her days. The first few months of school work came back with failing marks and then passing marks and then failing marks again. She dragged going to school in the morning. I about lost my mind trying to pinpoint if it was the school culture, the teacher, or just the out of state move, and then I received a note she tested into the gifted enrichment progm called Horizons. She agreed to give it a try, and now adores this school and asks to get dropped off early. The teachers were professionals in evaluating what was going on and changed the instruction so she is now motivated to learn and is learning a lot. Steven's Creek also has a lot of parents (and grandparents) who volunteer their time when asked and donate materials for classroom activities and projects.Parent Review4mo ago - Augusta First Seventh Day Adventist School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMaybe not so Christian after all ...Buyer Beware ..... the school was good academically, and we were happy to have our son there (although he did voice concerns about bullying on more than one occasion). Having said that, he enjoyed the academic aspects, and he liked the teachers and administrators.Unfortunately, we had to move from the area which would have meant a 45+ minute drive each way (however, according to the school, we were still “within the CSRA”). Subsequently, they would only refund a fraction of his tuition. By the way, apparently paying quarterly vs annually would not have made a difference — “they would have just sent us a bill and would have withheld his records” until we had paid 1/2 of the remaining tuition for the year I guess we differ on our interpretation of what a “Christian” way of handling these circumstances should be. A sad way to end an otherwise happy relationship.Parent Review4y ago
